hi all .., just to answer the many questions concerning the latest punkbuster update,, if you try to join a server with a no cd/dvd crack,, pb will boot you with the "corrupted file/memory" as reason,,, so you need to copy your original version 1.03 exe into your game,, what? you did not back it up!!?!,, lol,, np, just reapply patch version 1.03 and remember to put ur game cd/dvd in,.. and walla ..it works again,,
[note: this does not apply to online buyers like steam, pb is fixing this as we read ., so they say]
ok ggs.. enjoy

Change this:
pb_sv_restrictions 1
to this:
pb_sv_restrictions 0
this should help admins out with the crack/steam issue. Washington and London have this feature disabled.

Soultear, thanks for the info, one real stupid question, on a SADS what file does this entry go in. I did not see it in the Server ini or in the pbsvr.cfg. Many thanks

yes pb is fixing the online buyers problem ,, a quote from goofball on sg forum;
"Apparently the recent PunkBuster software update did not distinguish our Vegas 2 executables as not being "no-cd cracks."
I've been working closely together with some folks over at PunkBuster the last week in trying to find a resolution to the problem. After sending them in a memory dump of my Steam Vegas 2 executable yesterday it appears as if they have indeed isolated and fixed the problem for Steam clients to be able to now connect without receiving the dreaded "corrupted file/memory" error message.
I'd like to thank Mr. Hendrik Thole and his team over at PunkBuster for their support in finding a resolution to our issue."
so sorry if i did not catch that before.. but thanks to soultear i will set my pb sv restrictions back to 0,, which suxor,, because i set it to 1 to stop the use of gps and such.. oh well. we await the new pb update,, and we also still wait for the SADS 1.03 Fix,, since only squadgames has it,, we will just have to wait ,,, ggs oh.., vggs.. lol
p.s. (pb_sv_restrictions) you can change it in pbucon and type the command in.. or fix your pbsv.cfg file.. add it and save,, heres an example of ours:
pb_sv_HttpColMsg "FF0000" //[Message Color in WebTool (default=FF0000)]
pb_sv_HttpShowGuid 0 //[0=No, 1=Yes (default=0)]
pb_sv_Restrictions 1 //[0=No, 1=Yes (default=1)]
pb_sv_FileWhitelist "" //[Folder Filename Filename ... Filename]
pb_sv_EmptyName 0 //[0=No, 1=Yes (default=0)]

yep it will kick you with a Cracked exe. Funny though UBI had released that one on their own site.
No point in setting [Restrictions to (1)] till UBI sends out a patch to fix hardcore mode on dedicated servers.
For Squadgames HighStakes servers this is a must to have restrictions set to 1. Only because you can use a 1.01 crack with a fully patched game (1.03) which disables highstakes client side in a high stakes server? Weird huh. Disabling the highstakes visuals client side.
Can someone say "BROKENED."
