As far as I can tell these are pictures were once shown on Mark Miller's site, but have now been removed. Note that some of pictures I've posted are larger versions than those now seen on his site.

again really, look at the ribbing and mostly what went into the engines.......Once put into a screenshot/painting like piece the depth of the work really lost.

Nice stuff, on the mechanical end, but they just aswell not even put a Human in them.

It funny how some artist can capture the mechanical but not the Humanity, and vice versa.

Becouse they are more engineers than artists, thay do the tehnical side and leave to 3d renderer to do what you would espect from the artist.
It is very easy to de overhelmed by machinery in the proces.
Making those kind of ilustrations is more revording using classic technics - gwash, oil, acrilics, aquarel. It`s very hard to make good ilustration if you relay only to fotos for background, `cos that limits compositional manipulations.
Not to mention 3d renderer (as whell as potential lack of fine art education that leads to lack of freedom in treatment of the subject), that dictates what you can do with colors, contrast, perspective (cruel dictator by itself).
Note how sterile human faces are.
All above does not meen that those men don`t deserve serious respect.
