View Full Version : Tried searching...AT4 won't fire

Hello all, first time on the forum.

Sometimes, when I go to fire the AT4, the box shaped target doesn't show up, and until it does, I can't fire.

I've had this happen a couple of times in GR2, and now I've moved onto GR2:SS, and it's still there.

Am I doing something wrong? Is there a team member behind me maybe and I should try moving? I'm on the 2nd mission and after taking out the tanks, 2 choppers were sent after me. I was about to take one out, but ended up getting shot by it instead.

Other than that, I love GR (this is for the X-Box). As a matter of fact, I love all the Tom Clancy games, but only have enough time to usually play GR.

Thanks.

You have to be totally still before the AT4 will fire. If you are moving at all, it will not let you shoot. I think in real life, this is a safety mechanism that has been placed in this game. I hope this helps.

I'll try to make sure that I am perfectly still, but I usually don't move and try to fire the AT4. It's possible my hand is slightly resting on the stick, causing a little movement.

Thanks, I'll see if that does the trick.

Yeah, it's supposed to be like that. After you stop moving, it takes a second or two before you are free to fire. Also happens if you are standing still and then all of a sudden spin around.

Confused on AT4 is this in co-op or is this a type of rocket launcher?

And that's why I completely ignore anything and everything you say.

The AT4 has a series of gyroscopes as saftey features so it can be impossible for the thing to fire while upright on the soldiers back when he has another weapon drawn, and it takes a few seconds for the gyrocopes to reconfigure when the launcher is held correctly so the saftey cna disengage and the weapon is safe to fire.

just in case anyone cared.

Becuase I didn't memorize what every rocket launcher in the game was he thinks he is superior. I wouldn't say everyone hates me just everybody that i proved wrong.

Everything? I've replied to exactly two of your posts in the last 3 or 4 months. Two. That's hardly everything.

I think I'm superior because I think you're a fool. Has absolutely nothing to do with what you did or didn't memorize.

I didn't know what the AT4 was until I read that post, and with certain context clues, you could have realized that as well.

Thanks again for the responses. Unfortunately, I haven't had a chance to even play!

I probably was moving a little since the chopper was firing at me. I'll try to be still once I get back to playing.

Thanks again.

That seemed to do the trick. In some cases, if you walk left or right slowly enough, the target stays ready to fire.

Thanks for the tip. On to the 3rd mission!
