So I reformatted today, without uninstalling the game. Is the activation permanently gone? It seems it is; just checking.
There is an ubi de-auth tool but it only seems to inactivate the current install. I have an EA tool for Dead Space which can deactivate all installs tied to a specific key, but the ubi tool seems to be incapable of doing this.
Any suggestions? Be more careful? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/crackwhip.gif
Thanks all, and have fun checking back here every 6 hours for the pc patch http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif

Have you done that before? De-Authorized more than 1 installation with the EA Tool?
Because it says on EA's site that it frees up a "slot". Not "slots". Here is the exact quote.
"Once de-authorized, a machine "slot" will be freed up and can be re-used on another machine."
I'm aware that there are two different tools. One that is "Game Specific" and one that is not.
Could you please tell me which one you have and if you have in fact De-Authorized more than 1 installation/serial when using it?

Call the support phone#, depending on where you live and tell them what happened. I had a similar situation with reformatting after a virus disabled my desktop. Ubi support gave me one more install/registration.

ok, thanks. I got hit with a virus too, haha http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/disagree.gif
Also I looked at the EA tool, it appears I remembered incorrectly and it functions much the same as the ubi one.
