Major problem with playback

just got and installed Raven Shield and everything was playing fine up to when I tried to play the game. It starts but it looks like I am walking around in heavy fog or a very brite white light. I can see my gun and some pictures of things on the walls. I've tried lowering my video settings and have the lastest drivers for my 5200 ultra too. Nothing I've done makes a differnce any suggjestions before I return the game, my older Rainbow six games work fine.

you got the patchs? Just try turning off stuff like aa and such till itll roll for ya. gl

no patches for game yet.. x-mas present and I seen the patches were 17mb+ and with just a 56k I was hoping for an easier fix. I've set everything to low and does'nt make a bit of difference. hell the intro plays just fine. has anyone else had a similar problem and the patches fixed it?

I have a Sony Vaio, 2.5 ghtz, 512, with a agp g-force 128 ram 5200 ultra running 53.03 winxp drivers (just released) I am planning on dowloading the latest patches for Raven and going to re-install it..

well for anyones interest I have reloaded the game several times with and without the 1.5 patch and still the same deal. My Splinter Cell works fine at least for my tastes... as I stated before this was a x-mas present from my son and I have been telling him I will get it working soon, luckily hes a teenager and use to disappointments when spending his hard earned money.
I have had less headaches over the pis#ing puppy we got or daughter... and if I would of bought this game I would of already let the dog chew on it...
How do I get a refund??? yea, thats what I thought... I am going to try an exchange it or something...

yeah that sux. Hmm not sure what to tell you. sounds like it should run on your system, esp. if Splinter Cell runs. IMHO splinter cells the best game ever. Its starting to be used as a benchmark tool now too. Interseting to note if Iam not mistaken, RVS and Splinter CEll were developed at the same time in the same office, and which one came out best? gl

Some people have had problems with hte new driver release. try a rollback 4x.xx driver from the Nvidia archive. You can find them here:
