View Full Version : Broken relationships due to videogames

I was wondering if anyone had the same problem with relationships ending http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/cry.gif because you were into videogames?

Lately, all I have been thinking about is Halo 2 and I think that's what pushed her over the edge and dumped me http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/1072.gif. I'm sure I can find a great girl that loves videogames.

Its a simple equation of time spent on the most desirous object. You are driven by your desires.

You demonstrated your number one desire was the games due to the time spent on it. No one wants to be in a relationship where they come second to something else. Hence she stepped out.

The trick is to make time on your chief desires occupy the same space in the continuum.

Hence, get a gamer girlfriend. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

And may I be so bold as to say, anyone who hooks up with a frag doll in this manner has just won the geek lottery. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I definatly think to be a hard-core gamer your relationship will suffer if you dont go out with a gamer as well. Otherwise you better get used to hiding it, or just take the time to let her CONSTANTLY know she is appreciated. Nobody likes to be second fiddle, but really you just have to know how to balance things, the same as everything in your lives. Frankly, being a female gamer and hanging around alot of females that game on live, i have also seen the guys leave their gals who were too addicted! Weird but true, lol!

Weird? I think it demonstrates my point perfectly. Men and Women are not as dissimilar as people may think.

Valkyrie FD

Well i will second that then, a gamer is a gamer- men just tend to be exposed to it more. Anyone that likes card, board, or other types of games can just as easily become addicted to console/pc gaming.

I have to agree -- I have a tough time dating "non-gamers" as well because it is what I really want to talk about all the time, and when I have down time, I don't want to watch TV, I want to game. So in the end, I decided to shun all non-gamers from the pool. It is a little harder as a guy since the pool is not as large, but I would say this... any woman will love the chance to pop a cap in your *** in RS3 if you give her a great chance to learn the controls. Try buying 2 xboxes for an in house syslink! This is what I do. The couple who has a house lan party together stays together.

I wish it was that easy...I don't know of any girl gamers here in Michigan?

Any girl gamers out there in Michigan or anywhere looking for an athletic (loves to exercise)/engineer/videogame junkie http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I've managed to curb the breakup thing by playing so much that there's no time to get started in a relationship. It's really much cleaner that way...but a bit more lonely hehe.

Hmmm, so if divers do it under water, which way do gamers do it? =)

relationships ending bc you're into gaming and your significant other isn't? for me that's not a problem, my boyfriend is a hardcore gamer both console and PC so we're perfect for each other http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif. I have heard of people breaking up due to Everquest and FFXI, you know...people falling in love with their tag-team's white mage. OHHHH...which reminds me, open beta starts for World of Warcraft tomorrow. Come, help Blizzard find the bugs and check out this hot game that has seemingly been in the works forever...

the way i found to get around this proble is to chill on the games for a bit and try to get the girl into them. just make sure that she is the one. quake 3 is a good game to start with it is not to fast it has a good balenced weapon set. good luck.

Ok I just had to chime in on this one. This thread is making me realize that I definatley must not be as much of a hardcore gamer as you guys. I would choose a good woman over a videogame anyday. If my girlfriend wanted to do something ( somethings more than others http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif ) I would drop the controller instantly to spend time with her.

Hey Steel what's up buddy. Didn't mean to make ya feel bad there.
By the way sorry for not getting around to playing some H2 with ya recently. Me and my Marine buddy that you met have been playin quite a bit recently but I was reluctant to send you an invite cause ( you being the stat-***** and all http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif ) you might get frustrated playing with us. We're still learning what can I say.

pdiep49
11-30-2004, 08:07 AM
LOL!! That's okay, currently my relationship is to my xbox, I'm at work and I already miss her http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif . My goals now are to improve my stats and to help the Fragdolls with their skills, so hopefully with all the practice we can get two birds with one stone or is it drop two stones with a visit to the doctor.

well that begs the next question:

How the (radio edit) do you FIND a female gamer to go out with? I only heard about the Frag Dolls by chance, and it's not like other gamer girls walk around the street in a parade!

If someone suggests hanging around the nearest EB all day, then it sounds like a good plan, but it'd be hard on your feet, and you'd eventually get kicked out for loitering, right?

Just a few thoughts to consider. And answer, dammit! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif
