This just in: Ubi is releasing a patch TOMORROW that they have confirmed will resolve all of the following:
1. Joystick's will now be supported and a new in-game conrol configuration will allow full control remapping.
2. Full support for dedicated servers including Ubi's own official Blazing Angels game server.
3. A new cockpit view with full instrumentation including altimiter, air speed, and radar.
4. The patch will include a small executable program to allow the game to be installed without interference from StarForce software.
5. A new multiplayer combat scenario 'April Fools' will pit Joystick-equiped players against xbox-gamepad-equipped devs to determine who can hold the title of 'April Fool'!
Ok, so it would be nice if the patch (whenever it comes out) would have ANY of those things, but i'm not getting my hopes up.
But even so, I'm still deciding whether or not to buy this game. I have the demo, and I really do like the arcade style, so the lack of rudder control, cockpit, etc really doesn't bother me. And I have a gamepad that works reasonably well. So my question is this: how is the multiplayer aspect of the game so far? Are there a lot of people playing yet? Is it fun? Are there any unbelievably stupid problems (after Joysticks didn't work I can't imagine what they could have messed up in multiplayer)?
I had sort of planned on waiting to see the community reaction to the game before purchasing, but the reaction has been overwhelmingly focussed on the current flaws. So lets hear it from those of you who are still sticking with despite the problems: what are your favorite features of this game?
