Hi

I've been having problems with punkbuster for a while now so at this stage I can only play on servers not running PB (bit of a pain as they all have high pings). Right to explain first I have been in contact with evenbalance about this problem

Hello,

Check to make sure that your PB folder is not set to read only and
that you have permissions to create and overwrite files with the user
that you are logged into the computer with. Right click on the pb
folder and select properties. Uncheck the Read-Only box and apply to
all files and subfolders.
Then run PB web from here:
http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=updatepb.php We have found
that this seems to clear up the init kicks.

Seems a problem with PB versions.

I think PB is a **!!?â¿*$%")!!**

Well, no I have relaxed, if you visit http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=dl-farcry.php you can download (manually) PB version 1335. With this you can play in PB servers with version 1335, with no problem. Unfortunately, Ubi official servers have 1315 version, so you will get kicked.

One solution is: uninstall patch 1.1, delete PB directory, reinstall patch 1.1. Now you can play in servers with version 1315 BUT ONLY ONCE. So you can play in one server without being kicked, but if you leave the game you can not join other one. You have to unistall, delete and reinstall again for joinning other server.

At least, this two methods work for me.

PB is the worst program ever seen. Hope they fix it someday.....

Cheers

Just an OBTW, if you do a search for PB, you'll see this kind of problem in almost all the different games. BF-Vietnam and BF1942 also have off and on bouts with PB.

I agree with Hasta, try downloading the manual updates
