im not sure about oblivion, but if u say it was 16 squer miles than so be it. FC2 is supposed to be 50 squer KILOMETERS. that about 30 squer miles.
that is still much bigger.

crysis was not open world game. it had small mission seperated by loadings. u can't compare them. just as u cant ask how big is STALKER.

if anything, i would ask someone how big is GTAIV. that game is also an open world.

I think someone in another thread said that San Andreas was about 32 sq. km. So FC2 will be quite a bit bigger than GTAIV if that's true.

I am going to be a **** and make a correction xD

Oblivion: 16 sq KM not miles
So it is an even bigger difference. But im not sure it reallly matters. Wandering Oblivion, i felt the world was endless. So even if Far Cry 2 were smaller, it would still feel huge. I think the feel rather than actual size is the most important factor.

Peace Out

timcmd1 is right, but to me more important than the feel is how fun and useable is the world.
if it's huge but not enough to do there than what is the point?

farcry2 is a shooter that is all about the firefights so i really hope that the world is populated with enough gun totting malitia guys that travelling it is challenging and dangerous to provide me with enough action, even OUTSIDE mission.

in games we are 90% of the time the initiators for the combat. WE decide when to engage. if we dont advance than nothing will happen and we are safe. i hope that farcry2 will put some initiative on the enemies so occasionally we WILL be attacked unprovoked outside mission areas.
