View Full Version : CHANGES THAT NEED TO BE MADE FOR GRAW 3

1. Why can you not adjust your look speed settings?
I would like to think that this should be a given in any 3rd or 1st person shooter. In a game thats supposed to be about precision the controls are way too sluggish. Having the option to tinker with the settings may not correct it totaly but at least you'd have some options.
2. COVER ONLINE
Theres no exscuse for that at this point. If you can use cover during the offline campaign you should be able to do the same online point blank. Its really messed up that Gears of war which is an all out action game, is more tactical than GRAW 2 and Rainbow Six in my opinion. Somebody at UBISOFT needs to pay attention to what works.
3. Customizable weapons
I would love to have some options to add silencers or pistol grips to improve accuracy.
4. Jump ability
5. Better interaction with enviornment
I'm tired of not being able to go through shrubs because its being used as a barrier. Or not being able to kick in a door and go inside a building. Maybe climb a roof because I'm want to get a better vantage point to snipe. Why cant I drop down over ledges if its a low enough drop?
5. Shotguns
How bout shotgun only rooms online?
These are some of my thoughts what you guys think?

1. look speed, definatly a must, I agree with you there. except I would go a step further and ask for a complete overhaul of the aiming system in this game, I think it's horrible. I still love the game, but nothing is perfect http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
2. cover ruined rainbow six, if they put it in graw I will never play it again.
3. customizable weapons would be cool but I don't see it happening, as they usually make 2 versions of them if they need to, m468, m468sd ring a bell?
4. jumping would never happen in combat, it's just not a good idea, no offense.. it's not quake or halo.
5. shotguns are meant for close quarters, ghost recon is all about everything but close quarters, that's what rainbow six is for.

i don't get why, if you don't lean back against a wall, your not under cover. There's the ability to lean in this game, minimalizing exposure while aiming...same deal, just your not locked against a wall...

No thanks!
Don`t need any of the things your talking about.
I can only think of one thing i would like and that`s a option for a FPWV(1st-person-weapon-view).

I agree with some of your points. Weapon cutomisation and better interaction with the environment would be great. Id rather have them than a new fancy gadget. Even shotguns would be alright if handled realistically ie do very little damage after 40 yards. But jumping and cover mode, Absolutely not. Unless they did it cover mode with FPWV and in cover mode the camera zoomed extermely close to your man, making 3rd peeking as limited as possible.

I agree with a few things.
1.) Not only do you need to be able to adjust speed settings, but the horizontal axis needs to be much smoother. There has been several time where I can not line up a guy because the horizontal axis jumps farther than it should no matter how much you barely touch it.
3.) I don't know about pistol grips, but I would like to change from silenced and un-silenced during the match.
5.) I do find being stopped by a bush is annoying, I wouldn't mind if it just slows you down but no you come to a complete stop.
As for the ones I disagree with.
2.) A cover system is lame and promotes camping. A cover system ruined rainbow six and I hope they wouldn't do the same with this.
4.) We don't need a jump, like someone said this isn't halo or battlefield.
6.) We don't need a shotgun, the maps are huge, at no point would you ever need a shotgun.
Here are a few suggestions of my own.
1.) A matchmaking system, will always be top on my list.
2.) A better clan system, while a step in the right direction, it still isn't very good.
3.) A melee attack, maybe something such as a knife.
4.) A party system, even if not in matchmaking, a party system to hop around custom games with would be nice.
5.) Switching host, when a host drops, a new one with the best connection should take control instead of the room dropping.

lets see. if you come to a one foot ledge you should be able to drop off of it. true.
everything else you said. no.
no jumping
no cover system. just because other games put it in dosent mean its next gen. when will people stop starting posts with this rediculous argument.
no look speed adjustment. this is not in on purpose. the developers have stated this.
why do people think that every shooter has to have a shotgun in it. i used it in call of duty but its not for this game and not what its about.
what is it about custamizing everything. do you guys play those car games like my son where you can spend hours just making a car and not even play the game. this is not nessicary for this game and if they spent time putting stuff like this in then everything else that matters would suffer. you would end up with r6v with big glitchy, badly done maps with no gun detail.

When I talk gun customization, I am talking being able to put your silencer on during the match. Kind of like Counter Strike, I realize this isn't CS but I do like the feature.
I can deal with no look speed adjustment, however the horizontal axis is still messed up and does not allow me to move with the precision I would like while zoomed in.

being able to put on and take off a silencer in mp during a match would be a reasonable thing. there is no argument that this is something done in real life.
the jumpy action when zoomed in with a sniper is annoying. when you just want to move a hair and your guy acts like he stumbled and moves a foot.

i really don't know why anyone would NOT agree that there needs to be a x-hair sensitivity change.
you may be good with how slow it moves, but someone might not be, they might need it to be alot faster for them to be as good as you are with it slow, so saying that it's fair to everyone is just downright false, becuase it's not, no matter if they intended it to be this way or not, it was a horrible idea on their part.

It's supposed to be somewhat realistic.. Jacking the sensitivity up to 9 in kiddie arcade shooters like in Halo 2 or R6 Vegas lets you spin around at ridiculous speeds, and it's something they've rightfully kept out of this game. I wouldn't mind if they kept the current speed as the maximum and let you DECREASE the sensitivity, but it's good to have a realistic cap on how fast you can aim and turn.

i played vegas for like the first 3 months that it was out, until i realized how bad it actually was, i guess i was blinded lol.
the whole time i played the game, my sensitivity stayed at 6, anymore than that and I could'nt aim. however, 6 is still faster than what is currently in graw2. the way that console's shooters work useing the analog sticks to aim rather than a mouse, the higher sensitivity will only hinder you since you can't be precise, ESPECIALLY in ghost recon where the movements of analog are kinda choppy at times. i currently have found a fix for *my* speed, i just upped the default sensitivity on my controller through the guide button to high instead of medium, and it is basically the same speed i would put it if they had enabled a 1 - 10 sensitivity setting, so it moves faster than the default controlls ;p

How about they fix the guns. The reticule needs
to bloom out all the way when running like GR
and GRIT.
It really sucks to be shot by a guy Running and Gunning with a sniper rifle.
Get rid of precision aiming.
Get rid of third person view all together.
You may say, you have the option to play FPV, but in reality if you give a person a choice to have an unfair advantage over another player they are going to take it.
And hell no to the cover system. If the multiplayer became like the single player I dont think I would play this game.

I actually wouldn't mind it to be in first person, but a real first person view where you can see your gun.
I would like to keep precision aiming though.

i agree about the first person, it really needs to be done. i dunno why they think us console users are pussies, they put first person on pc, why not console.
precision aiming can help you but it's also a hinderance at times, it's probably better on the pc with a mouse, i wouldn't know though cause im not sure if my computer could handle it anymore, have not upgraded my video card in a long while since i've been playing consoles. lol

What if they made your character's body still spin the same speed around the axis, but your head (Reticule) could move faster?
So I could turn up my look speed, but my body would still take a while to turn into firing position.
Kinda like how you can snap your head to the side much quicker than you can your body.

I'm not sure how that would work.. After you turn, you wouldn't be able to fire for a second or two?

Armed Assault does turning well, you have a small area you can move your head and weapon aim in, then after that you need to turn your whole body. So if you were holding a heavy weapon your body would turn really slowly outside of the aiming area. Anyway I agree with not being able to adjust the sensitivity because I believe it creates an even playing field.
But for the sake of the argument, I can turn and continue aiming easily alot quicker in real life than in game.
The lower sensitivity is needed for a longer range shooter (which GRAW is supposed to be) though, thats one of the problems with using analog sticks to aim.

Agree with you there, I think aiming in real life is a noticeable difference faster than in this game. It is extremely slow.
Also another a change I would like to see is for the switch between the regular gun and pistol to be 75 percent less. Right now the pistol is obsolete and you might as well just reload instead of just switching.

1. I'm not sure about the speed issue; right now, I am not seeing a problem...
2. Cover system: well, I've mixed emotions on that. I believe it's fine in MP. The idea of being sucked to a wall is ok, I quess, in SP, but not the big boys' arena of MP.
3. I would definately like to pass through shrubs/grass.
4. Dropping off low ledges: I could see that.
5. Jumping...? He&& to the naw!! MP seems like run and gun heaven enough w/o adding Bionic Man, Jackie Chan acrobatics to the mix. Why would a ghost do jumping, unless you mean the jumping/diving done in SP, which I find useful (like the slide-which some hate but I like)? Outside of these, no thanks.
6. Shotguns...? Naw, another he$$ naaawww!!! I have Vegas, and like in that, it's only useful in a CQB simulator. Any Ghost who gets caught close enough to have to use one ain't a ghost. It's like my original desire to see some martial arts techniques inserted-not needed, as Ghosts would rarely be that close.
While I like that folks have options, there are only so many "options" devs can insert before the game's production takes on a "life" all its own and/or the game starts becoming something else. I'd say if one wants CQB firearms, one would be better served playing Vegas. Too many hostiles to be firing at them with a Shotgun given that it does not have the accuracy, nor range, of the Counter-Snipe (for ex.).

1. Get rid of that horrible cover ****. When you are trying to move it is unbelievably annoying to have to get stuck on every little wall and every object. For those whose single player campaign is not already ruined by the constant freezing, the cover function is there to make being Scott Mitchell as annoying as possible. That function alone proves that no one ever playtested this game, because it is terrible.
2. Customizable scope/suppressor. How hard could it be to select your scope and whether or not you have your suppressor affixed? Even that pathetic game called Perfect Dark Zero allowed you to do the suppressor thing in-game, and that game would barely allow you to do anything. Choosing between scopes is the real critical point though. The fact that you cannot have the 4x scope on the M468 is a disgrace.
3. Getting stuck on small clumps of grass just isn't quite as realistic as the idiots at Ubisoft would like us to believe. I grew up around grass, and even bushes, and they are not impenetrable objects in real life. Trust me.
4. Lastly, maybe they could try harder to find someone to work on the game who actually knows how to write in English. For example: "Be stealth"? ...or how about "Regroup TO the rally point"? It should say "Be stealthy" and "regroup AT the rally point."
Little things, I know, but it just shows how little effort was put into the single player campaign. There are like a billion English speakers in the world and Ubisoft couldn't find a one of them to proofread their ******ed plot.

how bout make ranked games go away. If your a one you can't get in and noone wants to play.
