So you want to create your own budget U-boat. Well its easy and in 3 easy steps you can have it done in about a day if you have all the tools, parts, and a little time.

First find your local Agway store. They have many propane tanks. Get a long one for the hull. Now for the bridge you can use a 55 gallon oil drum. (the real bridge kinda looks the same anyways) For AA guns you can use a shot gun. For torpedoes you can use Oxygen tanks. For propellers use 2 out board electric motors. For electric use Die Hard batteries. For a periscope use some copper pipes. For the hatch find a rail car and cut the top off. I have screen doors for the hatch if you would like. Thats an extra $19.95.

Well you can tell I'm board when I wrote this. I was at work this evening and they had some good books for sale about the U-boat war and I think I got a good deal. Used Amazon.com Check it out. They have some out of print books that we commonly look for. Silent Hunters is there too. This book is seen in the back of SHII user's manual on page 196. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Consider it done.
With a little help from my wife, it will take about fifteen days of hard work, in that room, to have them ready. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif
Hum, that's an overestimation of our industrial power; three weeks, maybe. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

If we get the chinese on it it could be done in a matter of hours. They are really good at making copies of anything. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif
