Hey guys,

I’m sure most of you wouldn’t be able to put Zambia on a map (I know I couldn't). But it seems there’s crazy sh!t happening over there…
It’s on http://www.warmongersinc.net: “From Mexico to Zambia, there is much to unearth. It's time to start digging.”

Check it out, it's worth a look... or two!

And the fact that some low echelon yellow journalist story writing flunkies at Ubisoft can find it on a map makes it important to me...HOW?

I would MUCH rather Ubisoft make a good, difficult tactical shooter with squad based gameplay and a plausible story than try and copy real world events no matter how newsworthy they may be.

Oh, wait... I was looking for Ghost Recon... My bad. That doesn't exist anymore. Now we have DIP**** Recon and are supposed to be happy with it!

I am sure that some console players will be happy with the Frankenstein approach you have taken. When you take a game that appealed to adults and make it for AD/HD kids, it TENDS to tick people off. When you take what made the game great in the first place away (squad controls for those who cannot figure that out) and replace it with features from other -much better- shooters, it tends to tick people off. When you do not BOTHER to answer any of the difficult questions that people want answered and just spout the same lame recital, it tends to tick people off.

Not that I expect anyone at Ubi to care. I am sure it is FAR more important to make some half assed, buggy piece of crap than to remain true to a franchise where the fans were INSANELY loyal. Stress ' WERE '.

I am sure it will be a fun kiddie level shooter. I am also sure that the companies that made Call Of Duty and Battlefield and Medal of Honor will NOT lose any sleep over it. It is simply not good enough to worry them. And the fact that Ubisoft refuses (not CANNOT, but WILL NOT) support their titles is the headstone on a once great franchise.

RIP Ghost Recon, you will be missed.

@kalenath

I am over here from the SOCOM 4 forums looking for a new hardcore team tactical shooter and that hasnt "gone casual." It upsets me that you guys seem to be getting disappointed as us long time SOCOM fans were with S4.

I still have hope for this game though. Its not because I have seen great things, because it resembles S4 is many ways, but because there just arent any hardcore round based shooters out there.

Well like the loyal GRAW fan Iam, I will reserve jugment till ive played it. Time and technology move on and so must game's. If people would have told me when I was in the UK forces that in 30 year's time that soldiers when using radio communications on the front line would be speaking through their ear's I would have laughed, but they do. So for better or worse things move on and we must adapt or get left behind.

Well, be glad you CAN play it. Consoles are all that Ubi cares about now. Feel privledged to be the next ones who are going to get the shaft from this company.

I am sure some peopel WILL enjoy it. Some people enjoy Hello Kitty Online after all. (strange but true, people DO like it) Someone may even enjoy the apparent abomination that Ubi has put out as a PC version, Ghost Recon Online.

I DO admire your optimism illy-sv650. I am not being sarcastic about that. I admire you for not taking the crap that they have dumped on their fans personally. I can't help but take all of the insults they have given us, small and large, personally. Maybe the game WILL be a great one. Doubtful in my own eyes, but possible. I hope you enjoy it. Again, this is not sarcastic.

In my opinion, they have taken a great game and turned into something not so great. Then they lie about it. Then they wonder why I get upset. I wonder. When people ignore me I get upset, Ubisoft. When people lie to me, I get upset, Ubisoft. When people treat me as you HAVE been treating me and many other fans, I get upset, Ubisoft.

I know Ubisoft doesn't care. They made their choice to pander their buggy half finished crap to consoles only. That is their choice, just as it is my choice to tell them where to shove their 'new mainstream direction'. I am NEVER paying full price for an Ubi title again. I won't pirate any of them, although it is so very, VERY tempting. Instead I will wait for a month or so to buy it from the bargain bins for $10.

As I tried to relay before Future Soldier is to Ghost Recon was SOCOM4 was to SOCOM. Basically a game that is so completely and radically different from even the previous entry (GRAW2) that it's a stretch to even call this a Ghost Recon game.

Ubisoft make great games and have dedicated teams who put the heads and talents together to have products that satisfy a number of different types of customer, they can't please everyone, they also have a lot of problems with compitition in a huge open market, If I was in the Ubisoft team, my first brief every morning, would be 'There's alot of comments on the forums about the game, please ignore all the bad mouthing, it doesn't help you in your day and most of the wranting pages on pages come from blokes who have far too much time on the hands to worry about insulting our efforts to stimulate our keen audience'. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/clap.gif

The game looks great, I love all the intel loop stuff, looks amazing in this augmented iPad universe we have, I saw some recent footage of the fast cover system which looks to be a keen element I'm seriously looking foraward to the whole FS experience.

Wondering why we can't have a firm release date now for the shops, but that seems to be echoing with other game designers also.

You seem to be an expert on the staff at Ubisoft. Do you have experience working for them?

So your advice is for the developers to completely ignore all negative comments about their product. From the little product design education I have, that is one of the most destructive pieces of advice you could give a team of designers. In fact deconstructive criticism is a very important factor in producing great design.

Yes, ignore us!

Yes, lie to us!

Yes, pander to the lowest common demonimator!

It's all right, your fanboys won't buy anything but Ubi products after all. Who CARES about anyone else?

@Tundra444- Yes, the game LOOKS pretty. Yes, the game looks like it will be about on par with what COD was a few years ago gameplay wise. Yes, peopel like YOU are what Ubisoft listens to. People with NO CLUE what Ghost Recon was. After all, why make a game that is DIFFERENT? Why NOT make it EXACTLY the same as every other shooter out there, albeit with a few techie toys to spice things up? Why BOTHER making an innovative, challenging or authentic type of game when you can make it FUN?

Silly that. Ghost Recon wasn't SUPPOSED to be innovative, challenging or authentic was it?

As for you insults, guard your back pal. Ubisoft doesn't appreciate ANYONE but their own CEOs. Brownnosers are a dime a dozen to them. Fans who have stood by the company for YEARS are disregarded in the name of making 'new and better' choices for game direction.

Yes, they should just ignore everyone who isn't burying their nose deep in the cracks where the sun doesn't shine.

Wait... That is what they DO ALREADY.

Ah well... You will learn. Or you will not. Not my problem. Not being sarcastic either. You will play this new game and probably enjoy it. I hope you do, and I hope it works for you. If it doesn't you won't be able to get any help from them. They don't do that kind of thing anymore. Customer service is a no-no to Ubisoft now.
