Now, thanks to all the support given from this Forum, it is available: THE CHINA INCIDENT, a semi-historical, 19-mission campaign, set during the autumn of 1938. You are Japanese Fighter Pilot flying the Ki-27 Ko.

At that time the Japanese incursions in China had escalated to full-scale war. The actions of the campaign take place on the Hankow front, on the central coastal areas in China.
Quiote a lot has changed since the Beta version: more missions, more skins, more random elements: most missions come in several configurations, giving the Campaign a small random element. (Even if you replay it, you will never be exactly sure what will happen.) And all Fighters Patrols do not result in enemy contact - as in real life. But in that case, if you just make it back to the base in one piece, it will be treated as a successful mission - again as in real life.
The Campaign now comes with 11 skins, mostly for Chinese aircraft of different types, including the Gladiator I, the He-111, the I-16, the I-153, the SB-2, the TB-3 and the C-47.
SPECIAL THANKS to Graf1119 (Sentai 77 Ki-27 Ko) and Macwan (CNAF C-47) who volunteered to do custom skins for this Campaign!!!

Excellent little campaign thanks. I was half way through the Beta version when you posted this so I have canned it and started again.
With a bit of luck (with the random missions) I won't have to repeat too many missions.
I must confess to a weakness for the underdog planes and this one is a definite favourite.
Ergo this campaign will get more than one airing on my PC over time.

Thanks! I'm also fond of these low-end planes, like the Ki-27and the I-16, and will do more campaigns for these!

Great, I'm a big fan of the I-16 also.
I forgot to mention before - I also enjoyed;
Winter War - Finnish Gladiators. January-March 1940, and have
Winter Battles - Finnish FIATs against MIGs, December 1941
* Turncoat - I-153's in Finnish service, Summer of 1941
loaded and ready to play at a later date.

I'm playing through the campaign, and enjoying it greatly. The missions seem well balanced, and a lot of fun.
I do, however of comments. Firstly - when the enemy aircraft spawn, it creates a noticeable pause, which alerts you to incoming enemy planes. Secondly, planes which are assigned to bombing runs sometimes are not given bombs in their loadouts.
Despite these, the campaign is lots of fun, thank you for creating it!

Ouch! That was NOT good. I will of course try and correct.
1. About the spawn pause: can that be corrected by giving the enemy planes spawning points that are more far away? anyone here knows?
2. Bombers without bombs: what missions?

Just finished - most enjoyable little campaign, the LI-27 is a delight to fly.
I had a bit of trouble with your Winter Battles though. I had three attempts at the second mission and each time it locked the computer. First time I have experienced this in 5 years of playing the game???????????????
However the winter war is just about completed with no problems.

you could start them from the beginning of the mission ..I think? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/10.gif
looks cool tho http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif I'll probably give it a try!

Thanks for both comments and help! There sonn will be a new version of the "China Incident" out, with some small bugs fixed, and a new skin added. and I will look at the 2nd mission of "Winter Battles".
All feedback is good feedback!

Spawn pauses are unavoidable. In some cases they are absolutely necessary but I'm trying to get away from having planes spawn mid battle and get them to fly to the battle from the start. Its a little less precise but it eliminates the pause and makes things more realistic.
Of course it does hurt the CPU with all the planes flying around.
You can somewhat mitigate the pause by placing static aircraft of the same type on the map somewhere. That way at least some components of the aircraft have already been loaded to memory.

That was a great tip! Thanks!
