HAWX For PC: Won't Multi-Task, Hangs At Exit

The game arrived for me today, and I didn't see anything in this technical discussion as yet that helps, because already I have to say I am extremely disappointed with the state the game has been released in. The Demo I never had any problems with, but now on the full game, I have a number of fatal problems.

Firstly, the game absolutely won't multi-task; any attempt to tab to another window leaves the HAWX window blank but on top, and you can't easily get to another. If you do make it there, you then either get stuck unable to open a new window, or have to bring up CTRL ALT DEL to kill HAWX to get your system unfrozen again.

Secondly, I've tried to play it offline a few times, but any messenger program with a pop-up seems to break the window, causing constant flickering at the bottom of the screen, as if it's trying to update through the HAWX window. And then you can't alt-tab to remove it without hitting the problem above.

So far I have tried to play and exit the game 3 times; each time after clicking the Exit icon, the game has fatally frozen, and I cannot do anything to escape except a hard reset.

ive had the same problem with the quitting but it's not every time that this happens. You might just have to persevere with the quiting and i can't really help about the background tasks.

yeah i seen this to so far. and if you try to tab out when it starts up the game is not there but playing lol!!

but yeah bring up task manager and then kill the hawx.exe to get it to stop. i did find that if you wait till you wait till you are at the main menu

then tab out it is ok, well so far. all so if you have xfire open it crash the game as well. but doing the above to tab out. i then can start xfire and then get back to playing.

but the zfire pic are all black lol, thats xfire problem though.. FRAPS works well and with no problem! FTW

but i think if that does not work for you. you may have to make sure all of your drivers are up to date. like sound,gfx,mobo,chip set. maybe somewhere there may help you out.
