Hi,

I have Core 2 Duo with NVidia GT8600 card installed. My Warrior Within Game worked fine when I played normal mode a couple of months back when I still had Windows XP Service Pack 2. Last week my C Drive HD crashed after 10 years of faultless service. I had installed the game on another drive so I thought it wouldn't be affected. I had my admin install Windows 7 on my new OS hard disk. The game wouldn't run so I tried to re-install. Pop2008 worked fine on it on re-installation. But I keep getting 5003:0x8004ace4 error on trying to re-install WW. It prevents installation. My NVidia drivers are latest and this seems to be some installshield problem. I am not sure though. How can I solve this issue? Does the game work on PC in Windows 7??? This is frustrating as this means having to switch back to Windows XP possibly.

This error looks like an InstallShield folder problem, maybe the folder or file/wizard is corrupt.

From which Source are you installing the game/WW ? Is it from a DISK (CD/DVD) or any digital distribution file ?

First clear all TEMP Windows file under your OS. And as a side note, download and install the latest Windows Installer package from here, and install the latest version of the .NET Framework from Microsoft's website (if you haven't done so):

http://www.microsoft.com/downl...splaylang=en&id=8483 (http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=8483)

You can try this method and see if it works or not. First try to Rename the InstallShield folder.

e.g. go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\ and locate the Installshield folder, Right-click the Installshield folder, and then click Rename. Type InstallShield1 as the name, and then press ENTER.

Now try to re-install the game i.e. WW. For 64 bit Windows OS the above folder will be located here i.e. DRIVE LETTER:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\.

There is also one Hidden folder named as 'InstallShield Installation Information', but inside the C:\Program Files\ path. You can try deleting this folder, and see if this helps or not ?

Ok, I think I have gotten around to this issue. This is an Installshield issue. For some reason it comes across as installed or something and gets stuck there. The solution I got was to go to Program Files\Common Files\Installshield.

Renamed the existing Installshield folder to something else like Installshieldold and then I shut off the PC and rebooted and re-installed the game DVD. It re-installed the folder/drivers without any conflicts.

Another point could be I was using a backup copy I had burned to prevent my original DVD from wear and tear on account of continuous use to play the game. I use the backup DVD to play the game all times so my original DVD is damaged less. So after renaming Installshield folder, I re-installed the game from original DVD and it installed just fine. I doubt though this was the case trying to install from the backup since I am now playing again on hard mode from backup DVD. So yep, Installshield issue.

Anyone else who comes up on the same glitch of 5003:0x8004ace4/4ace8 issues can do the same renaming trick till the issue is solved.

Hey thanks KingDaniel0. Your post just appeared around when I was posting my final solution findings after a successful installation. It was indeed Installshield issue. I tried the renaming process last evening and it did not work. So I posted the thread finally in desperation. Then some time back I realized that I hadn't rebooted after renaming the folder last evening and hence it was probably not 'corrected'. So I tried it again with reboot and it worked.
