Ok, so it all began when I installed all of the patches, 1.1-1.4 and I did NOT get the map editor. I also realized that I was lacking the auto-updater from the very beginning.
So, I **TRY** to uninstall HoMM V.
I've used the game's uninstall program, the add/remove program, and even went directly to the Programs/Ubisoft folder and deleted EVERYTHING.
Well, the game still shows up in the Add/Remove list, and when I pop in CD 1 it and click install, it asks me if I want to uninstall all components.
1. How do I get rid of the phantom game so I can re-install?
2. How the H*** do I get the Auto-Update?
3. How the H*** do I get the Map Editor? (Seeing as how the patches did S***)
Can anyone PLEASE help me??

To erase the game from the windows registry so you will be able to install it again:
Go to start-run.
Type Regedit press enter.
Go to :
Under that key look for any keys related to heroes and delete them.
(you can use the f3- search function).
After that try to install again.
If it works download the patch for your game version from here:
http://patches.ubi.com/heroes_might_magic_5/ directly 1.41.
The editor should be working now and should be acessible from start-programs ubisoft homm5

I should have mentioned that I also did the regedit to delete all traces from the registry. There is no trace of Heroes or Ubisoft or anything else I can think of.
It still asks me to uninstall the game.

One question: Are you using a administrator account on your computer?
Also take a look at this thread:

I had to delete the hexadecimal files to FINALLY get rid of it.
Now, I used your link to get to the list of patches, and the 1.41 kept giving me a Corrupt File notice when I would try to install it, even after re-downloading.
Is that on my end or possibly theirs?
I am now going to try the 1.40 and see how that works with the original map editor problem.
I just downloaded all of the patches, 1.1-1.41 and they all say that they are corrupted. Does anyone know if the patches from gamespot.com are reliable?

corupt files may be due to viruses...

Is it possible for a firewall or the computer itself to corrupt a file during download?
Everywhere I go to download the patches, when it comes time to "run" they all say that they are corrupt.
