Hi to all,

I talked with Ubisoft support person about the problems I have about saving the game while I am playing. The saved area is grayed out and F5 quick save does not work. The only way to save the game is going at the weapon depot to choose the blue box. The support person told me the reason for that is that I am using video card that is not supported or it was not tested wit that video card. The highest card supported is what listed in the box, the 9000 series. She claimed the reason I cannot choose save is an issue that the video card is not rendering. That will happen with GTX 260 and newer that is not listed. Does anyone hear about this problem with the newer video cards and able to save the game? Does anyone with GTX 260 experience the same problem as I do? This person claimed that later I will not be able to save the game anymore even at the weapon depot. This person said other people with the same problem needed to play the game with supported video card. I know other person had the same problem. I know one person had the same video card I do. This person claimed no patch. The person said the problem was the video drivers. If a patch will be available, the Montreal Company who developed the game needed to provide that patch. Is anyone aware of a solution for this problem? Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Medico1

PS-I have Windows Vista 64 bit and most recent video card drivers.

Honestly, this sounds like they were just blowing smoke. If it were a rendering issue, that should have no effect on using quick save since nothing is being rendered, you are just pressing a key on your keyboard. Driver conflict? Maybe. Rendering issue, I doubt it.

Do you happen to have a friend that wouldn't mind parting with their vid card for a few hours? If so, install another card and see if the issue continues.

This issue happened to me once after I rested in a certain safe house. After that the F5 is constantly disabled.

I loaded an earlier save and went to another safe house then everything worked fine until I stuck @ 27%.

I am running a GTX 295 which is basically 2 GTX 260s with extra shaders and 1.78 gig memory (or so) set up in SLI in a single card and it runs beautifully. No problem whatsoever in spite of what the UBI Soft techie said.

All my game time is offline and I make all my saves from the menu(is that what you mean by the saved area grayed out?), have never tried the quick save thingy.

Thank you for your reply. You are right. It sounds this support person did not know what is going on and gave whatever reason. I was able to save again. It sounds that I may have saved the game when my buddy tried to help me. At that time, I noticed that save games are not available. I located a saved game that was ok and I have been able to save since then thanks to God. The video card is ok.
