I read some other posts of how people approached this mission but none seem to work for me, that low level fog kills my Mav searching, not to mention the limited load out.
The reality factor in this scenario doesnt make sense but I am not speaking from experience here.
How can I knock out the strellas and both Shilkas, keep my wingie alive and knock out the extra SAM launchers. All that before the Migs get in range.
Anyone have an in game track file showing a successful attempt?
EDIT: Well after a few more tries I got it. I just lock my mavs where I suspected the target would be then it auto locked I suppose that works but does'nt seem realistic.

I do not pretend to the role of ultimate advisor, but here is my way of mission accomplishment. At the start of the mission you're positioned in front of the SAM array, to the left from you a lonely Mi-26 lazily flies near the sea shore. I divert to the bandit and shoot him down by Sidewinder. At about the same time "Strela" appears from the fog and fires first missile at me. At that moment I fly qiute far from the "Strela" site and almost cut a grass and dodge buildings direct onto the mountainous area. All these cicumstances and flares allow me to fool "Strela". And after that I start drag-racing with "Strela" misslies : I fly on a high speed dropping flares with ECM turned on in parallel to the shore line from the side of mountains as close to the ground as possible from one turning point to another, back and forth (I realise that I've found funny and ambiguous comparison, but nevertheless...). Once I hear missile launch warning, I try to find a deep alley among the mountains and dive into it. If you're patient enough, you'll get off all the teeth from every "Strela" (3 SAMs X 4 missiles on every SAM = 12 wasted missiles total) and violently kill them by "Avenger". Remaining "Shilka"-s will be fed by "Mavericks". And then... time to spread deadly gifts for S-300 ! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/icon_twisted.gif
After the anti-SAM session will be closed you'll be to perform the final act of this play - "Great escape from MiG-s". Fast and low, baby, fast and low...

Here's how I do it - take out the search radar first (it's the tower-like structure that all the SAMs are grouped around). You should be able to see it through the fog before you enter the Strelas' range. One it's down, you've neutralized most of the enemy defenses. Sweep the area for remaining Shilkas or Strelas, then destroy the inactive SAM launchers around the dead radar. Hopefully you'll have time at the end to escape the incoming aircraft.
Cheers!

I moved in to the far east of the target area first, killing the nearest Strella with a Maveric. Then I went back out over the sea, crossed to the western side for the targets, and killed the remaining Strella, again with a Mav. Then I made a fairly steep angle bombing approach on each Shilka, neither fired at me during my high angle runs.
Then, just cannon the primary targets. I finished this in time to clear the area well before the Su's appeared. With my AI wingman helping to clear some ground targets, of course it's a bit quicker.
