Noobs and Rockets

Let me tell you something. I can remember playing games from floppies. I own and or have played almost every (decent and some not so) FPS on/in the market.

Occasionally I like to use the rocket launcher. It was put in the game by the developers. Does that make me a "noob"? No it makes me a person that likes to enjoy the game for what it is a game.

You want realism go play Americas Army. You want pistols and small firearms go play Counter-Strike.

You dont want rockets? Go to a NO ROCKET SERVER. They are out there, find them. GO play on them.

The RL is part of the game put in by the developers. You dont like it Cry to Crytek. Dont whine and moan calling people "noobs". It makes them use them that much more. Just to hear you complain. Thats another reason I do it. To listen to the "minds of infants" calling people noobs and unskillful etc.

In the future you may want to ask someone NICELY to not use rockets. It just may work. Of course YOU can always go find a server that has no rockets.

Ok listen here, 95 percent of the people who play far cry detest rocket launching and feel that it ruins games. Of the remaining five percent, half are probably tkers whose weapon of choice is of course the rl. I dont mind the rocket launcher if used for tactical reasons like clearing defenders out of a defensive chokepoint or tearing down walls but there are only a few good players I know of that go with that route.

My point is dont you think you are being selfish to sour the opposing 95 percent majority's gaming experience for your own enjoyment. Since you are in the extreme minority doesnt it make sense that maybe you are the on who should find a special server that stresses rocket use. There are a few out there. Instead you are telling the overwhelming majority of people to go flock to the couple of servers that eliminated the rocket launcher. That is *** backwards and shows the reasoning of a small child. I guess this explains your tendency to pick up the rl in the first place.

Last night we had some rocket n00bs in the server. I told them I'd be taking rockets from then on out and I pwned w/them. In fact, it pissed off the rocket doods off so they left.

I felt dirty afterwards so I went and took a shower and prayed for forgiveness.

I actually detest snipers more than rocket launchers. Usually I'm to lazy to trek across the water and up the mountain, but when I do I put a bullet in the back of their head and say what's up b*tch!

The last time I checked (though we live in one) this game was not run by a democracy.

The "Game" has RL. They DO serve a purpose. Taking down walls at a distance is one. Taking out "crowds" is another.

Just because 99% have an opinion doesnt make my opinion that is different any less right.

I could see if it (RL) was being used in a manner that it was not intended. But its not. It is being used as a weapon and tool to remove walls/structures.

Hey if the Devs removed them tomorrow I would not have a care in the world. But to tell me and "X" others that we cant use them is ***backwards.

As for the "couple" of servers if the Admins cared they would change it. So to me since there are "few" No Rocket servers as opposed to servers WITH rockets the people that dont like Rockets are in the minority. Supply and demand. Apparently the demand is not great enough. Yet.

Again you say it is ok to use as do I. What I dont like are the ones that "childishly" express themselves about the use of them.

When I "play" I use anything and everything within the "parameter" of the game. The RL is (until removed?) a part of the game.

Thats like the OICW and its grenade launcher. If the RL was not in the game I would almost bet you my life people would "whine" about that. Matter of fact Ive been called a Rocket Noob when using that.

Also is not the RL character more easily "killed" then the other classes? So it is a "give and take".

I use it but only occasionally. BUT I have the "right" to use it. As people have the right not to. I have yet to see a server with more then 1 to 3 RL on it at a time. It does add another "facet" to the game. One where you dont run around all "Rambo" like, make sure you stick to your objectives, and make sure your shots count.

sheepmolester if I may ask how do you handle a server and the players that has RL being used? IF the RL is being used "properly"? (no TKs, blowing up friendly jeeps, etc.) I mean if I read you right the "other half of the %5 is OK, yet we get "female dogged" to about it. Thats the part I do not like the most.

OK, the main thing I dont understand is if someone knows they are aggravating just about every single other person in the game, why do they still do it? I guess that way of thinking is just not in my nature. People that enjoy making other people miserable stink and I hate them.

re rockets

our server does not run them, as when players use rockets, they 9 times out of ten...have a RL and never move far from the ammo dump so they dont run out and just keep firing rockets constantly towards the flag, they are not actually aiming them at all, and we have FF on so this soon pissed off memebers of the same team.

i do believe they are usefull for blowing walls, but so are engineers and grendades.

we told some guy we had no rockets when he entered even though the server name states NO ROCKETS, his response was "how do i blow the walls then" - which just goes to show that probably over 90% of RL users are n00bs.

but as you put mate, there are servers with no rockets like ours, and all are welcome for a good/fair game

relax man, if you are using the RL in moderation and for its intended utilizations, you are fine; blowing walls, killing morons in buggies, and knocking groups on their asses is a-ok here.

again, the poster above me, pvt james (?), is correct when he states that a high percentage of RL users are either noobs or morons looking to sabotage a team game.

You guys crack me up. 95% of those using rockets are noobz? Are you serious? I use nearly all the weapons in MP and enjoy everyone. Some days I snipe, some days I am into the close quarters killing and occassionally I use a rocket.

It is so ******ed to hear someone complain about rockts -especially when you look at their kills and they look like the noobz. Rockets are just tools in the game. I especially like to grab them when I just spawn in to use on the spawn killers who are waiting around to pick you off.

Get over it...Far Cry is just a game.

Then why do people "hound" others when they are playing within the set parameters of the game? When I said I do it to "annoy" I do not just jump on a server and choose the RL and play. "Most" times the Map or section of Map will dictate which weapon/class I use. I do not at the begining of Dune choose Engineer and stay with it til the end.

So with that in mind if I feel a RL is needed to help clear walls, "hidden snipers", group of E, I will switch. Yet when I do the "female dogging starts" (which should "upset you more") which is an attempt to make other people feel miserable and "noobish" and you shold "hate" them first. Which in turn makes me want to use it more. Also sheep it is a tactic. If I use the RL and you are "hellbent" on me not "most" times the person that is against the RL focuses on finding the RL user almost to the point where he (or she) ignores other stuff. Ive seen it happen. So if I have a person "hunting" me (or a RL) that is one less person Defending/Assaulting as wellas they should be.

I will call you on that. Please do not mistake me speaking up on a server and using a RL the same thing. EVERYTIME someone (be it on my team or not) makes a reference to "Rocket Noobs" or bad mouths a Rocket user I challenge that person with a "Go to a non rocket server" "Cry to Crytek" "its part of the game" etc. yet I may or may not switch to the weapon. If I use it %10 of the time I would be suprised.

As for the purpose of this post. Get out of it what you may. Accepted? Belong? To what? No I just get tired of the so called "experts". You want a game with no rockets either make it, buy it or play it. Dont tell me I cant use something that is there for the using. Dont tell me I am any less a player for using it. Why do you NOT use it: do you want acceptance? do you want to belong? Does it make you feel "l33t3r" then others?

Funny thing is I see SOME of the same people that complain about RL "noobs" spawn camp, chuck nades ANYWHERE, etc. yet find THAT perfectly acceptable. You either use what is given to you or you dont. You choose not to fine. Dont berate others that choose to.

Had a rocket n00b in the server last night, getting tons of kills. The guys playing didn't know how to deal w/him. So I went RL and dealt w/him. I kept him at his spawn and stayed on a hill so he couldn't get a shot at me. After asking him how he liked it a couple of dozen times he went engineer.

I don't mind rockets, but it's real easy to camp the flag and kill attackers while tk'ing yourself at the same time. There isn't much of a penalty as you respawn again in 15 seconds.

Our LMS (Last man standing) mod will cure these n00bs of that, but then again LMS actually takes some skill and tactics, so I doubt they'll be playing it.

Rockets are good for snipers though, as they're pretty much fire and forget. I can fire and duck behind cover, only taking 2 seconds out of my time. In the meantime if it takes 6 seconds for the rocket to reach the sniper, he has that many seconds of his gameplay interrupted if he's gonna move and survive. Some of our regulars in the server were amazed that I took rockets and commneted about it. I calmly told them I was in a n00b mood and was gonna hammer a couple of snipers............lol.

Would a possible "solution" be to have "Snipers" only on D and RL only on Assault?

It would give Assault a much needed "punch", by having "distance" firing and breaching, while keeping the "flag campers" at bay.

Also whats wrong with "camping" the flag. Many Engineers do it with the Detpacks, both offensively and defensively, killing themselves in the process.

1. Ruggbutt that is hilarious.

2. The majority of snipers are harmless and unlike the rocket launcher have no effect on the game other than being a minor nuisance. Rls change the entire landscape of the game. One person uses rockets(usually at close range near the flag) which causes rocket retaliation by other noobs who get taken out by the rocket. Pretty soon you have a rocket fest and you are getting taken out by rockets that arent even intended for you.

Snipers on the other hand I have learned to have fun with their presence. Like on Dune when the attacking team has six snipers. This means the flag is safe and I can go sniper hunting. The first round and sometimes the second round of killing is by knife. After that they know I am lurking and pull outt the pistol. Eventually after getting killed a few times in a row at close range they realize their pistol and scoped rifle doesnt work against the saw and they change classes and actually try to help their team.

There was this one sniper who said "I dont even care who wins I just like killing." Our flag was safe so I hunted his *** for the remainder of the game. Go play FFA then where everybody is playing the same game. I dont like selfish players and enjoy giving them a whose your daddying type lesson.

The sniper heavy attacking teams on dune are hilarious .They have no chance to take the flag and almost invite you to spawnkill them .
I used to hate this map but now i use it for sniper and RL killing exercise .They are so concerned with shooting people in the base that they never look up before you knife them .
Had a game like yours sheep where i continually killed a RL junkie who was spamming the base ,even his own team left me alone to continue killing him .

I don't believe in spawn killing, but when you have 5 snipers behind ammo dump, attacking on first flag of Dune, I do.

It's fun and it really pisses the snipers off.

1. Its just a game, you guys are acting like its real life, let other ppl have fun with the rl

2. You dont know whats going on in someones life (they might have lost a job, a gf, ect) so they might just be looking to have a lil fun using the rl

3.you have access to the rl too, its not a disadvantage

4. im starting to take the rl ppls side because of all the ppl that i see *****ing bout it

5. I dont use the rl but dont mind when other ppl do

6. this is a GAME, its not a serious situation going on in your life and if it is then you dont have a life

i hardly ever use the rl myself but i dont care when others do because as so many others have said it is a part of the game.i love to snipe tho and what really burns my biscuits is spawn killing

i would consider spawn killing a more serious prob....especially if your a sniper....if you cant kill a guy with a rl in his hand you should just stop playin FC
