View Full Version : My Logitech MX518 mouse is screwing up...

When I started my computer up today, the left mouse button wasn't working at all. I fit my nails into the small gap under the button and removed some of ze gunk, and now it's working-ish...
Sometimes, it'll act like a double-click when I only press it once, when I'm dragging it it'll act like I clicked it again (therefore stopping the drag), and then there are times when it just doesn't work for a few clicks.
The other mouse buttons are working fine.

Anybody experienced this before? Can MX518s be opened up somehow, so dust or whatever can be removed from inside?

Thanks

I do not know. I have an MX310, and there is no obvious way to open it. I suspect there is a screw or two hidden behind a peel off label or one of the glide pads on the bottom of the mouse, but I'm not sure. My suggestion is that if it's messing up, don't try opening it though. Just replace it. Get a G5.

Hmm, it seems to have fixed itself... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

That's a bit weird...
