View Full Version : VERY poor multiplayer performance

When running splintercell singleplayer, performance is ok with next-gen settings. However, multiplayer is a complete performance piece of dung for me.
I get around 20 fps, even with all settings completely minimum.
My setup:
Nforce 590 SLI mobo
AMD 64 4200+
Dual Geforce 7600 GT's in SLI
2g PC6400 dual channel ram
Windows XP pro with all fixes up to date and SP2
(worth around 22k 3dmark03's)
I tried using different videocard drivers, but no luck. I have the dual core processor optimizer and drivers installed.
Can I somehow do something to fix this?<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

oh please, if ur a true splinter cell fan, a game with a few bugs will not prevent u from buying future releases... I dont really think DA was as horrible as everyone on here is saying.. buggy? yes, but most games are when first released... I dont think its the best splinter cell yet (game play wise) but that will not stop me from buying new splinter cell games

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/351.gif Can I copy yours then? Because just like I don't want to buy broken eggs in the supermarket, I don't appreciate paying full price for a game that's broken either.

^ O'rly ? Why then CT was brilliant ? I tell ya - CUZ Montreal is good. Shanghai is some bunch of loser programmers from the other world or planet. I dont think they even know how to search/neutrilize bugs, getting game done. Why do you think Current-Gen version of DA was waaaay better ? I can tell ya - Montreal is cool. Thats the reason. Shanghai should be blown to hell for this buggy as hell game.

I didn't read all, but if you telling us the game has a lot of bugs, we already know... if not, welcome to the forums...<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Check the forum - there are probably a good 50 threads regarding poor performance for PC's MP. Chances are the game is a port over from XB360 and in as much it was not properly optimized for PC.
I think a patch is the only way you'll get decent FPS out of the game.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

THIS is what we call a "Fanboi". Note the illogical statement "If its broke but its Splinter Cell, it still rocks like ZOMG".
The lack of understanding... "game broken, can't play, where's the problem? Its Splinter Cell!" And the txt.talk "ur" "u".
DA isn't bad, but it is buggy, and still has A-Typical Clancy game AI. "OMG, someone 3 floors above me got shot, and I know EXACTLY where the player is without having ever seen him."
It didn't deliver on all fronts, its no Chaos Theory, but it's entertaining.I wish they'd fix issues like this one:

It will include the complete GRAW game, that we have all been beta testing. Further more, it will remove all the suck from the game, increase colors used from 6 to 24million and cost you 13 dollars a month.
As a bonus, if you buy the collectors edition for 69.99, every time you open the box and or manual, a small electronic device will screech "CROSS-COMM ACTIVATED!"

I was thinking I have very poor preformance in the multi player demo as well when I joinned games.
But when I hosted one and just played me self against bots it ran fine.
Thoese with problems try hosting a lan with only you playing to see if its the net coding that might be the cause.
BTW I am behind a router any other with the problems please tell if you have router/firewall etc.

LAN play doesn't seem to be bad - I think my issue here is netcode, across a WAN. I'm behind a router, but I know how to setup port forwarding, so unless there's bad coding with NAT translation, I don't think that'd be causing an issue.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Well now I'm really depressed, I can't continue the game I'm stuck in the part I have to scan the blue print's and hack into the save but because I can't move the rotation of the weels I just can persue the mission. Damn! I game almost all my life and never had so much bug problemes in one game before. I don't mind ****hes and such but if you can't finish a game because of a bug then well I just don't know what to do anymore.
I think I'll bring the game back to the shop and ask for my money back.
Oh by the way look at this picture!

This forum really needs a sticky about the safe issue.
Click your mouse wheel. Try pressing up or down and left or right at the same time (like moving diagonally). Usually one of those gets it working normally.
