Hi first off to this part of the forum. Just started on trying the sandbox thingy out and one major problem is that I have is that my flags on an assault map donâ´t show up on the radar so I thought Iâ´d ask here if anybody knows why not??
Did a search in the search for it and it seams the search function is tits up again help would be appreciated thanx in advance. Oh yeah all other functions of the flags work fine.

You need to read the sandbox editor manual, as it explains clearly how to mark objectives and specify objective text on the screen (pages 73 & 74, I think). You need to use CurrentMission objects, but there's more to it than just that.

if you want a map that can eventually be rotated on servers, start with one of the crytek mp maps, delete the terrain and everything but the flags, spawn, and current missions. then use it to build your own.

Thanx Soroc I hadnt put the current mission objects in. Somehow skipped that part in the manuel and thanx also to Ionized allthough I had heard about that one with the delete maps.

Another question Iâ´ve got is, well theres a good few but as I am lookin to an assault map that might be played on the server (quick plug Farcry Legends server check out http://www.farcry-legends.co.uk/ ) occasionally. Will all the shadows on the trees and terain etc help lag the map so is it better to turn them all off? Also will it make a difference how much stuff I brush on? For example leave the huts bare inside or put in things like bunks etc campfires outside you know all the eye candy. Do you think that these things will make a differnce to the playability in terms of lag ie leave it a bit more bare as the eye catching maps to try and keep lag to a minimum? Or do these things make no difference whatsoever?
Quick edit here. Just read your post on the general forum Ionized. The map I am am doing is totally outside so I am asking about the the shadows for objects like trees walls etc ( I mean the brushed on stuff not objects I made that mistake at first putting in everything as simple entities). I play in a clan and most members have the shadows turned off anyhows but personally I would like it too look as nice as possible but find the right mix. And respect to you guys Iâ´m allready pulling my hair out after a couple of days. Thanx for all the good maps produced so far.

Thought I`d bump this up a bit because I would like to know about weather to leave the shadows on and if it makes a difference if you brush on a load of stuff like eye candy. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Add what you want, then walk the map checking your frame rates to see if you have problem spots. There's always a place or two that needs less vegetation, or less brushes, or something.

Find the problem spots and adjust.

Thanks matey for the answer have done these things and have the shadows on the trees and I take a major hit in frame rates when i walk round the map with my shadows on high (9800 pro 3200 xp gig ram) but if I turn my shadows down in the game I am getting 70 to 100 plus fps. Hey but with the shadows on the trees it looks nicer so do I leave them on coz lets be fair anybody who plays online a lot turns shadows off? Nobody also seems to take a hit in fps online on our clanserver when we have played with a few people on.
