This is crap. If anyone can help me it would be much appreciated. I'd also be very surprised if it ends up being UBI who answers as it seems a LOT of people are experiencing problems with Settlers 7 with very little answers...

I've now tried loading the game on two computers. Once on my home desktop and again on my work laptop.

The one at home has the 'Server not found' error (something like that anyway) and the one at work says:

"An internet connection is required to play this game. Failed to connect to the Ubisoft master servers. Please verify that your internet connection is functional and try again."

Genius. I love how this message comes straight after it download the patch....

When will they sort this crap out?

Here is the link for the support offices. Try and contact someone there - http://www.ubi.com/US/Support/...nationalSupport.aspx (http://www.ubi.com/US/Support/InternationalSupport.aspx)

I also get this message about no server found but I have only got it to work once since I bought it expensive coaster. There is nothing from ubisoft about this issue and why ooh why do you need the internet for it to work why did they just use the internet for multi play.

I get the " Failed to connect to the Ubisoft master servers." message too. Before that I got messages about a corrupted data3.cab file when I was installing it. I had to download the .bin files from gamesplanet.com three or four times ... tooks ages. Now the installer got as far as updating it with a huge patch, and now I can't even start the stupid thing. I agree, why the heck does it need to connect to a server, and why can't it see that I am connected to the internet. This is really irritating.

I also tried reinstalling it with the firewalls off (Windows and Norton), but it still doesn't work. This was a waste of 35 quid.

Last night I succeeded in installing the game on another PC running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, without any problems at all. The HP Pavilion laptop where it won't install is running Vista Home Premium 32-bit. Is there an incompatibility with Vista?

Could be your laptop has integrated gfx and is not supported?

Or an early dedicated that is unsupported?

I got a reply from Ubisoft yesterday. They said the same thing, that it's because the game doesn't run in integrated graphics chips (my laptop). They also said it runs fine on Vista. It runs great on the PC (where I have quad GTX295, so plenty of horsepower to max out the graphics).

I wouldn't place much stock in the Ubisoft support. They've been frantically buying for time for month now with silly, obvious "solutions" (which I already tried out before even asking for their help), while the game has been unplayable. I have absolutely no confidence in them being able to provide a solution, but I'll follow the charade through to the end (even if it takes at average a week between responses/"solutions"), just so I can get recompensated.

Ubisoft, you blow, and so does your customer support.

I can't get Settlers 7 to install at all.
It gets to 'Installing Startup Utilities' and then just sits there forever.
I have Windows 7 Professional 64-bit if that helps.
Anyone got any ideas?
