way out of central hall

hi, I am stuck at clock works gear and central hall. I have tried climbing on two walls but could not kill monster on one and could not climb the wooden wall to press button on further side. also could not find way to go down on below opening

I am unsure where you are at the moment.
From the Central Access Hall, you may set the rotating lever to the gear symbol.
Climbing the rock formation you go on a path that will lead you to the Mechanical Clockworks Tower.

Have you proceeded through the various rooms in the Mechanical Tower (past)?
(large room with a central platform that rises)

Have you proceeded through the Clockworks and Gears. Mechanical Pit. (Past)?
(down a long staircase past a drinking fountain, up a rope, through water wheels, up an "elevator", fought a Brute near its fireplace, splashed around in water in a spillway, ...?)

Have you travelled through a time warp portal to Clockworks and Gears. Mechanical Pit. (Present)?
