I could think of 100 diferent plots to continue the story.
Mybe Kaileena can come back and the prince has to chuse between her and farah (or take them both imo).

But i would love to see the prince travel to greece or egypt.

No absolutly not, GoW is all about slashing, gore and greek mythology. He could have a adventure to greece in pop way.

An plot could be that they got attacked by and enemy force and farah would be taken away to greece and he has to save her or he needs to reactivate the sands but the amulet is found by a fisherman and sold to a greek nobel or king or maybe princes????? (now he can chuse between farah, kaileena and a greek princes http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif )

Lol i never said something about the prince meeting kratos. I think he rather prefer the dahaka over him.

But seriously POP strictly has his base on persia unlike AC (which has freedom to be in any city).

However the prince can carry out RAIDS in india for Resources etc. Then POP will kind of become like an RPG!!!

Razia ... she´s not like Elika or Farah, she´s more like kaileena. Gives you info and weapons (powers now) and stays there.

what the tutorial of the FS will be like?
all pop had a tutorial as u go through the game u learn how 2 use the controls and a bit of the story
what the FS will have us use? we don't have the powers yet only the prince acrobatic skills

I still think it'll be illogical for the Prince using the amulet (it was inactive till he passed the first sand portal in WW). There shouldn't be sand powers.

I just want one gameplay video, they don't have tell me anymore about the Prince's new abilities, and story. I know enough about the game already to get me by until some new info comes out I just want to see it in motion. Screenshots do not help now reviewers and whoever else have gotten a chance to play a little bit of the game. So I suspect it won't be long now till we get a new video. Oh yea, little correction for you Chris Wii, is a next gen console, PS3 and 360 though are sorta like called hd consoles. That's why when people talk about the rumored Wii 2 they mention how it will be a hd console. Glad I just recently bought a Wii, but frustrated that this game is built from the ground up for it. I prefer not waving a wand around when I'm running on a wall, honestly. A conventional controller is better. I just hope the alternate versions of this game are good, as I'll certainly pick it up for the 360. Can't help but feel these versions will be cheap rip-offs, though. I guess we'll see. I'll be picking up 2 versions, I guess.

Anybody else also annoyed with this game, though? I mean, it seems like it'll be pretty cool, but mostly just an excuse to go back to the SoT universe. I mean, this takes place between SoT and WW. Well, WW reversed everything that happened, including the in-between 7-year period, right? So nothing in The Forgotten Sands that happened will actually matter in the continuity of the series. It's all gonna be reversed anyways. And seeing as we have a game that takes places after this one chronologically to show us the reverse, this game won't have any significance in the actual timeline. So I'm willing to bet the story will be paper-thin, and even if it's not, it's irrelevant to the series, and just an excuse to return to it. This annoys me.

Yes, I'm also worried about this. Last time some guy said the not every animation is finished in the game. They should reschedule this game to the end of the year, in May it will be buggy as hell.

When i saw the trailer they released i had a feeling that this pop might suck, then they released the screens witch eased my worries and now im hearing about the level of pollish and ubi that is not releasing anything.
Maybe its time ubi give this game to a new and fresh developer who can make a masterpice again.

UBI wont delay it, they made this game to abuse the fact that theres a movie coming about this game. If there was no pop movie there wouldnt be a new pop game in the same universe.

It was best if UBI continued whit the new pop game and changed the fighting system totaly and maybe change the graphics to more realistic.

For me a good pop game is one whit a good fighing system (POP WW went in the right direction), hard and fun puzzels, good (Persian) story which is treu to persian culture and history (POP 2008 did a wrealy great job in this part) and great animations.
But i cant understand why ubi doesnt make such a POP game????????

I saw the same video... They said that the game is a lot more complicated in terms of controls compared to PoP 2008.

Also they said the photos that have been revealed seem to photoshopped to look better than the actual game. They could mean the Wii version or PS3/360/PC version, we'll won't know until we see the game in action.

They did not say anything about the game being buggy or anything like that. They said it did not look as great as the screen shots released so far. Also it might be made for the hardcore fan base more so than the casual gamers like PoP 2008 was.

That concerns me as well. While it has been mentioned Ubi has been working on this game since before PoP 2008 came out, 2 years doesn't seem to be quite enough to crank out a next-gen game anymore. I'm willing to play a less attractive game if the bugs are worked out and the gaming/platforming is satisfactory, but in this new age of gaming less than stellar graphics is a serious hindrance. Games are true successes when everything works together in harmony, not when good aspects have to carry the burden of bad ones.

If this game is not a success. Then they should get bunch of fans aka old school PoP Gamers and get them involved in the process of game development instead of listening to focus groups that could cause PoP games containing RPG elements or become something it never was in the first place.

Ubi has to listen to the POP comunity before making a pop game. Ask what people want in a new pop game and then start working on a game.

If this one sucks i wrealy hope and want that UBI sells the pop rights to another developer and they can concentrate working on there presious AS.

There are tons of other game developers that could do great things whit this franchise, just take a look at what rocksteady did whit the batman game.

I think no other developers will be able to do justice to the PoP Series like what Ubi does. I mean

SOT was awesome
WW was a great game in its own.
T2T was a good game
PoP 2008 was another good game.

But compared to other developers and what they do to game series, they would just sit on PoP Franchise if it fails. Then never go back to it ala Jane's series that went to EA...

EA/Activision will ruin the series. There is no other developer goes and publisher that does the right thing with PoP Series no matter how good the game might be.

There hasn't been a bad PoP Game, I mean at most PoP 2008 or T2T was a good game but not a great or awesome game.

If you guys think Valve or some other game developer is interested in PoP then you'll be mistaken. I don't like PoP to become first party game nor it to become something that is dead.

Oh yeah Batman example is such an bad example... Rocksteady was an unknown developer before Batman A. and their other game they made was just average at best (Urban Chaos).

No you can't. Sands of Time set Warrior Within in motion, which caused the reverse, setting The Two Thrones in motion. The latter two games are entirely based on the actions that occurred in the Sands of Time, and therefore that game is completely relevant and important in the universe. The Forgotten Sands, however, didn't set Warrior Within in motion, etc, or anything else in the franchise, and since the games that follow it chronologically came out first, the game technically "doesn't exist" in the latter two. In other words, Ubisoft has to find a way to make this adventure one that seems fun and relevant, but isn't relevant enough for the Prince to remember later, like he did with both Warrior Within AND Sands of Time. I don't have faith; I think this adventure will be completely irrelevant and unimportant in the universe, and hogwash as far as that goes. I'm setting all my bets on the gameplay being good, as the irrelevant story will ruin that part of the game. Hopefully the gameplay redeems it.

This is for the developers of POP, was really pleased to hear of the reboot of the sot franchise it was and still is my favorite trilogy by far. But will u returning to the Dark and light trilogy after TFS ?? That really had a different look to it, it was way beyond any game seen so far. Plz do return and make it bigger and better..

Then that would be a different game. Realistic graphics for POP 08 ? that would turn it into a SOT type of game. The point of 08 was to be different then the old ones.

I'm sure ubi realizes this is a golden opportunity to win many new fans to the franchise, and they're not gonna let it go to waste.

I didn't think i would like this prince, he looked too much like an american hi school quarterback with bad hair. I mean, i don't think i would throw him out of my bed exactly, but i tnink the average middle eastern male is more attractive than the americsn boy-next-door look.

Actually, i never liked any of the prince models until a few hours into a game, they would start to grow on me.

Now i am in love with all my princes, and i'm sure i'll eventually fall in love with this one, too.

It is not a rumor ... It's a fact! Ubi is keeping a tight lip about it...recently they released 2 screenshots of the wii version of POP:FS. They say it takes place in a parallel world to that of ours...a mystical realm ! may be in the world djinns!!! No rewind power....

Prince uses 3 core sand power which he gains from a magical phial different from that of ps3 version...sand ring, sand column, and sand sphere. It is still unknown which adventure take place first, wii or the ps3 version.

Back on topic, i didn't believe for a moment they would release the game on pc in May, and i expected it to be delayed till september. June is more than I expected. Well, i guess that means less sea time and more game time for me. But i do hope for a nice special edition, with cool extras (more like the AC2 Black edition than the POP2008 special preorder edition that i got).

But honestly, this game is meant to attract fans of the movie, a big delay means that ppl will forget about it by the time it is out (not that it helped Avatar, but that was a bad game, judging from the demo they released)

The environments really do look spectacular and hearing Yuri Lowenthal again is a bless. But the animations just don't seem to be as fluid as everyone is used to from the SoT trilogy. The Prince just does that and that move, but all of those combined just don't feel nearly as magical as they did in the Sands of Time.The previews apparently didn't lie about the "roughness", I think.

This does look 100000 times better that the trailer.

I have worked on some animationing myself, they have the core animations working and now they have to make it play/blend into each other, it could be done in a month easy.

The soundtrack is olso going to be verry good from what i have heard in this video. Its very persian and atmosferic.

See, i told you that when things die down here, something big is revealed. Though i do find their timing strange, considering that ubi's servers are having trouble, ppl can't play AC2 and they should be working on that instead of releasing videos. On the other hand, this is a good distraction from their problems.

sure, i do see the faults that were mentioned but i dont mind them much, i am one of those who look at the story and the landscape of the games, so i'm ok with it

So far the character design for Malik, the Prince’s older brother, is my favorite. Most of the other character designs look nice, though the Prince seems a tad thicker to me instead of the wiry body type I’m used to from this series. The environments fit the SOT series feel, so we should at least have something nice to look at while we travers the landscape.

The plateforming is serviceable, as are the new powers. The character animation’s flow appears to be off, and the lack of a prolonged combat sequence makes it difficult to judge whether or not that portion of the game will prove superior to its predecessors.

If we’d seen this video in late December or early January I’d feel a bit better about this game. However, due to nearness of the games release date I’m not sure if they have the time to polish the things that require it most. That said, I do not think this game will be horrible but I am not really seeing an amazing entry into the series either.

To break things down

Story: This actually looks interesting. The idea of seeing the Prince as the voice of reason to his older brothers desperate act is a nice change of pace. I look forward to watching the Prince deal with the fallout from his sibling’s error.

Art Design: It fits the SOT series theme, and does look gorgeous in most of the screen shots and vids. The Prince himself seems off to me, but it’s not a deal breaker for the moment. Again I really like Malik’s character design, it seem appropriate for an older, more experienced and, supposedly, wiser adventuring noble.

Gameplay: Right now everything I saw seems ‘serviceable’. It’s not broken but it’s not exactly wowing me either. It’s just a little too familiar at this point, and feels as if it’s lacking something to keep it nice and fresh.

Presentation: This is actually the biggest problem right now. The game lacks a degree of polish/flow/fluidity/etc that was present in SOT series. Too the games credit it does a better job of mixing bright and vibrant with ‘realistic’ earth tones and settings than Warrior Within. However most of the animations seem stiff, and the Prince’s movements seem to carry a greater sense of power over speed as opposed to his style in SOT.

Overall: At this point the storyline, setting and art direction seem to be the biggest reasons to play this game. Otherwise, at present, there’s little here that we haven’t seen before, and what is new seems implemented with a distinctly visually underwhelming effect. If the team has the time I’m sure this could all be ironed out. The question is, do they have the time?

They talked about the co op its for the wii version only as far as we know. kinda like a super mario galaxy kind of co op, the other player doesnt really play he just kinda leads the main player in the right direction.

hey whhat happend to his leg....

have u all noticed whenever Prince takes a jumps its look like a half jump and look like a baby is jumping just watch it again....

I mean it isnt polished at all....

and if u notice his face (when he is running in a slow motion and then jumpin)its look completely chaanged....

I dont know how will the final game would be...

I watched the video but it just doesn't feel right ....

First everything is a quite solid not flexible like sands of time

Third: When the prince meets his enemies it feels like he says "oh no that's very hard on me i'm gonna cry" not "Let's Kick Some Asses"

Fourth: It looks like not everything looks like plastic only but also feels like plastic "when he hits an enemy"

However ..... thank god for this i still can't believe we have a gameplay video

The Prince is to big, and his face is wierd. And he still havent his scar, no upper lip, wierd hear. And the gameplay does not remind me of the SoT trilogy. As I said before, its ganna be wierd go from this game to WW.

tbh i am disappointed in the platforming side of the game

It does not look as fluid as it did in the SOT series....moreover the pole to pole jump is diffrent now, the wall run looks diffrent even the wall to wall jump is not identical....it just looks like the prince has adapted a new technique now which does not make sense taking into the account the technique he uses in WW.

Combat seems alrite, overall i fear that as things stand with his face and what not, the title is gonna get reviewed with average scores.

I hope that Ubi releases a video talking about and showing the combat in depth soon . I mean they’ve shown the Prince taking a swing at and striking some enemies. They’ve shown him facing a large group of enemies and even the beginnings of what I presume is a boss battle. However we have not seen how the combat flows during these scenarios.

I would like to see the kinds of moves and tactics required to take on large groups of enemies. I want to see if the Prince has the same or an expanded acrobatic combat move-set he did in WW & T2T. What do the elemental powers bring to the table, and are they of any use in combat or are they confined to the puzzle/plateforming side of the game?

Look as far as, storyline, art style and environment goes Ubi has PoP:FS in the bag. My main concerns at the moment are gameplay and presentation/polish. I’m willing to wait longer on the polish as this is their first video. However, as the 4th entry into the SOT series (on major consoles) Forgotten Sands could be in danger of feeling a little stale, gameplaywise. I really want to see what they’ve done to keep it fresh.

The animations are not done by the same person who did SoT, That guy is wrealy talented but im afraid hes working on AC 3 now.

I think that its done by the same person who did the 2008 POP, the prince moves like the 2008 prince.

If they change the textures on the princes face than it wil defenetly look more realistic, they have a glossy like skin as texture for his face now.

The reason why his face looks so weard in the posted picture is becouse hes talking at that time, its not his normal fase, its during an face animation. His face doesnt look that bad

I think the animations are off because of the ANVIL engine. PoP08 used the same engine and this engine was designed to give to protagonist more weight, since it came from Assassins creed. The old PoP used the Jade Engine, which was more flexible, this is why they couldn't have gone with the same animations as the SoT prince, it doesn't work with the engine. So can't really blame them because of that, but the face, comeee onnnnn.

Finally a gameplay video. Yes the prince's face does look odd. The graphics are good. But the animation is clunky.

Why am i observing Screen or Frame tearing issues like Assassin's Creed? Ofcourse because its using the same engine - Anvil Engine.

I really wanted POP to use some engine like Schimtar Engine 2.0!!

Hey guys if you observe! They have hardly shown us anything in this game! They basically have just animated the screen shots.

In POP 2008 they even showed all of the 4 damn bosses spoiling everything.

I still have high hopes from this game. I still feel that "There is more to than meets the eye" for this game............

LOL !! Guys guys,, dont just be crazy about his new looks and stuff .. He changed too in WW after we played SoT right ? And he turned out to be good looking in time. I'm sure we will get used to his new face. I am watching the trailer over and over again and things are looking real great !! The atmosphere feels like SoT trilogy and the fact that prince is alone again is really making me more happy. He has to be alone in order to get used to fighting better but one thing gets into my mind very often. How da hell are they gonna end this game so that in WW, the prince will remember nothing about the elemental powers !! His clothing changed from SOT to WW, not his body-type. Overall he was still the slim, wiry acrobat we knew and loved. In Forgotten Sands he looks more like a linebacker, or at least somewhat puffy, especially in the face.

So far I’ve seen very few people voicing concerns about the games atmosphere, which seems right for the SOT series. I have seen a number of concerns about the polish and gameplay. I am personally willing to set aside my concerns about the games Polish for the moment, to give the Dev team more time to smooth out the animations. The gameplay is another matter.

We’ve been told more than we’ve been shown, and while that does build up anticipation for the game, it also makes people concerned. We’ve seen that the old acrobatic moves have returned which is nice. We’ve seen the use of one elemental power, which works fine even if the actual implementation of the power is visually underwhelming. We haven’t seen the combat, or how the combat and acrobatics work together. We also haven’t seen any new acrobatic moves and we’ve yet to see how the other powers work in-game.

With May so close and our information so limited, it’s understandable for people to feel a little apprehensive at this point.
