Since the end of "VIP 2 is down" is one of the difficult parts in COOP ive made a video and a tactical walkthrough that might help someone.

You might ask why im not hiding inside the blown up embassy, but making a stronghold in the embassy and you wil most likely be pinned down and blown away by the tanks.

Kirkland is covering the rear of the embassy, but you might need to draw him further into the alley or the first tank might hit him.

Allan and Brown are pretty much safe where they are if only you quiclky call fore apache support on the tanks.

Dastuna missions walk throughs map version very good if you need help on best route etc.
Vip 2 is down: (my favorite map)

Ive made a image of a safe route (green line).
Use this to stay out of the Mg line of fire and then kill him before he can reach his sidearm.
http://img239.imageshack.us/img239/7163/vip2mg1gj1.jpg

The next Mg is also easy just loop a grenade into his nest. Aim at the wall behind the mg nest and it will certainly kill him.
http://img239.imageshack.us/img239/7890/vip2mg2qc0.jpg

The Third MG nest is the hardest unless if you got a M99 sniper rifle. Then you can take him out from here. (note that MG nest 2 is behind the "camera")http://img45.imageshack.us/img45/7869/vip2mg3wm0.jpg
Just make sure you hit with the first shot or he will spot you and return fire proberly. Note there are enemys on your right hand side too, that might hear you.

Part Two:
"Just for fun I made another video walkthrough at Ready for Bear near the tunnel. This time im only using rifle fire to take em out. Added some music and effects."

WOW, cool... I would never be able to do that, I am way to slow to do all those weapon changes, let alone use the tactical map so quick.

Oh well, back to my hiding place and do it as slow as a 3 legged tortoise... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Thanks very much for such an excelent video

Your welcome http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

If you note the black circles they indicate witch targets you/mitchell need to take out.

If you setup Brown, Kirkland and Allan like on the map they can handle the rest most of the time (on normal difficulty), you can arrange Allan and Brown before the embassy blows up, and then Kirkland.
dont go to the VIP before you are ready, the plot continues when you do.
If Brown or Allan dies take there place, kirkland is expendable http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

When the action starts and everyone is in position you dont need to bring up the tactical map again, I just did that to show what was going on.

All I can say Dustuna is Wow. (in regards to your handling of the VIP2 down mission as evdenced in your video)

I beat VIP down too, but you played that mission like Stevie Ray Vaughn plays the guitar. You have really mastered the tactical elements of the game like the when to go into tactical map vs. when to use real time orders. Even your quick flipping in and out of cross comms was excellent.

Now I know from what I saw, that you had memorized the approachs and order of enemy attacks. It was clear that the lack of randomization made that mission memorized. But none the less, it was poetry in motion to watch you defeat that mission and your ingame single player skills were great to watch (Not just your ability to shoot. Lots of people have that) I meant your ability to manuever rapidly through the different single player tools to move your guys around while the heat was high. Great presence of mind.

You certainly taught me a thing or 2 about others ways to get things done better.

Thanks fore watching it.
I admit that if it was randomized I would proberly be overrun quickly, because i would have been pinned down.
The Ghost AI tend to be very effective though if you give them orders to provide coverfire before all hell breakes lose.

Ive finished a video of the 9th mission "Bulldog" 2nd part too http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tMJOUcaJuYA. Im open to ideas of any other map that needs to be recorded.

Just give the ghost ( in this case Kirkland) an ATTACK order while aiming at the chopper. The AI is programmed so that it aint his first priority though.

He wont fire If.
He is supressed.
He dont have a clear view of the target (at the moment you give him the order)
If you give him a counter order it might delay him further so only order him once.

A good indicater that he is "following orders" is that he has selected the ZEUZ.

I didn't see you mention what difficulty level you were using? My first time through the game I finally gave up on trying to get through the end of VIP 2 is down without losing all my men. I was using the bombed out embassy with my whole squad located there on the ground level.

This second time through I still used that spot but found if you go up the stairs and move your squad to the spot behind the wall by the door opening they take cover pretty well and don't draw tank fire. Other than that it's just a matter of knowing where the tanks come from and painting them as soon as you can.

I made it through without any of my squad getting killed and made it to the evac quickly before the next wave of enemies came. That's with shooting all enemies and no use of grenades too, but I'm only on the second difficulty level so far.

I want to be able to eventually progress to the hardest level with no target indicators. The ultimate challenge would be hardest level, no indicators AND solo, but that may be too hard.

Thanks for the tip on getting your AI to fire the Zeus btw, I was beginning to think Kirkland was just lugging it around for nothing. I also thought to make an aim command work you had to use the scope, but you do it in your video with the reticule.

I love this game but it ain't no Far Cry as far as ease of weapon selection and movement. Slow scrolling method to change weaps and firing modes. Character movement is too clumsy and laggy. Lean is ridiculous with the rotating that won't stay rotated when you strafe. Every little terrain variance slows you down. Prone position sucks for shooting, said they patched it but it's still off.

If this game had Far Cry's movement and weapon selection I would breeze through it.

nice job, you did VIP part 1 in half the time it takes me, lol. I'll try your strategy it looks more exciting than fighting from the embasy like I usually do, but I like to play each mission differently each time rather than use one proven formula. Especially since the game is fairly linear as it is. In other words I play a mission as if I've never played thru it before. This approach also helps me not memorize the enemy movements; a game immediately goes downhill when the AI's illusion of intelligence and strategy is erroded.

I am at the end of VIP 2 down. I am in the embassy with the tank outside, but cannot seem to figure out how to paint it so the apache can take it out. It is the PC version, and I use a track ball rather than a mouse with a wheel because every time I hook up a mouse with a wheel it uncontrollably scrolls though the team list and I cant get it to stop. Can someone tell me what to do?

Dustuna, You frickin rock man just the answer i was looking for. I have tried many different senerios but always thought the monument would be a complete blow out. Used it as second advance but now will try it as primary. Keep up the great work and wish me luck. Thanks.

Second try it worked. I only got out with Kirkland
But who cares. I tried so hard for so long. Many, many different tactics. Thanks again.
