Is it possible to make it so that your watch crew are always in their rain wear? It looks rather silly when you jump up on deck for fresh air (in the North Atlantic in December no less) to see your men still in their Mark's Work Wear House ****ie's outfits. I'm only thinking of their health, you understand.
ALSO - is it possible to put your wheel turners and even your navigator in rain wear too? Remember, it's December in the North Atlantic. The hatch is open (let's pretend shall we, since imagination constitutes about a third of the experience) and it's probably damp as Hades in there.
And how about that Chief Engineer? Can he be any more of a talking, pacing corpse? The thought of a sun dress is looking better than his current attire, no matter how many badges you pin on him.
I guess what i'm saying is, how do I make my own uniforms? If it's possible, I'd deck out the whole lot of them.
Anybody?

The bridge crew won't leave their post until ordered to. So, when the weather gets worse they will stay on the bridge and not don their rain gear until you give them time to change clothes by ordering them below deck. The same is true the other way around. They won't lay off the rain gear until ordered to leave the bridge.

not what I meant...
...is there any way of modding the crew so they are ALWAYS WEARING THEIR SLICKERS - RAIN OR SHINE? This includes everybody inside the sub too...
and...
...how does one go about designing better outfits for these stiffs? They look too clean. I've seen the mods with the cute little uniform add-ons and wonder if it's possible to start from scratch.
ALSO...
...has anyone else had a problem with the crew's voices disappearing all together? My Chief mouths my orders, but all I see are lips moving and no sound. WTF?
danke,

Oops... i should have read your question properly. I thought it was that old question about the crew standing in the rain unprotected and vice versa.
I'm not into modding so i'm afraid i have to pass on this one.

yes, i think there is a way to at least get your watch crew into the serious gear, BUT it relates to the way the program reads the weather. so if you mod it you wont be able to use the deckgun or prob even the flak gun too.i shall attempt to explain how.
try going to: SH3/data/subs/"your subs type"/ then scroll down to modify your storm figure.
under [properties],look for StormConditions.
the first figure you see "xx.1;max wind..... , modify the xx's. the lower the figure the more it will regard the summers day a blizzard.
NOTE: copy the original. hope ive explained this well enough. [its also used to enable deckguns in rougher weather, to do that i have set the values at 11.1;max wind........] .
re inside the sub, put on the heater and prey the chief engineer doesnt notice the battery drain!
i wish i could somehow modify the crews uniforms too.
Good hunting.

I've wondered about a watchcrew weather related dress code in a post awhile back! It dose look dum to see your bridge crew in the middle of January, dressed like it was July. It seems that the only factor which prompts the crew to don their foul weather gear is wind speed, and not the season. I wish some modding genius could fix this. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif

Anyone know if it's possible to mod the little pictures in the crew assignment screen (F7)? I would like to give the men in the crew rest areas some pyjamas and slippers...

I also have had problems with the crew's voices. Not so much disappearing but steadily degrading, as if your listening to a tape on super-slow-mo until it finally sounds like a boat full of some sort of bloody derranged panthers growling.

If anyone is doing a mod for this I would like to request tuxedoes and top hats for my bridge crew when we pull into port. Thank you.

I like the sailor's tropical get-up when U-96 came up after the First Attack incident - the oranges tied around his neck doing the Charleston. Picture your watch officer in this...
So, how do you mod the outfits anyway? There's got to be a way. Isn't there a program where you can spread the clothing out like a canvas, simillar to the one the UBI designers must have used...

There is, for reference see â´The Simsâ´ and related texturing programs, will get you started on having an idea how to do this.

Even better:
Bikini-clad Hotchix manning (womaning?) all stations.
"Yes, Dear, periscope depth"
"Oooh...Man the Deck Gun....you bad boy..."
This I think I could work with.

Yes, but their bikini's must be made of leather or 'pleather' and they all must wear an eyepatch and a peaked officer's cap...and leather boots...3 inch heels...up to the knee...and a leather garter belt...and a whip (to whip the boys into shape!)....and nice leather gloves...and a years' membership to a tanning salon...and...and....
Too many days at sea!
