I have ended the war several times and it didn't have much fanfare, but this time the war ended while I was in Pearl. A giant Japanese flag filled the screen and then the game went into a narration, using the map, of the wars chronology that ended with the screen filled with the fluttering U.S. flag. I don't know if the ending was different because I was in port or not, but it was pretty cool, at least cooler than the ones I've seen before. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

If during the U-Boat campaign you manage to find and sink the USS Indianapolis before it delivers the atomic bomb to Tinian (26 July, 1945) you get to see the alternate ending. It's coming from San Francisco so make sure you're on that side of the island if you try to intercept it.

I don't play the U-boats ever, so I'll never see it. But I am curious about that "alternate ending." What happens?

Never heard of that before. For some reason im picturing a narration in english with a really bad german accent describing the birth of the 4th reich, or the invasion of japan resulting in millions of deaths on both sides since the bombs were never delivered due to your heroic actions in support of the axis powers. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif
Now i have to look for the cutscene movie when i get home to see what it really is, if anything. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

I have something to admit:
The previous tale of an alternate ending is true. And by true, I mean false. It's all lies. But they're entertaining lies. And in the end, isn't that the real truth? The answer is: No.

I hope it's false, the war for the U-Boat is over in May 45.
