I can't seem to lift morale

I sink lots of ships (about 235 000 tons now), its 1943. i give my crew medals and promotions. and yet, the morale on my sailors and officers is about the same, just over a half-meter.. is there a way to improve that?

its the lack of sleep, you see, it happens all the time, just like me. i'm suppose to be asleep right now, instead here i am 3:30am should be doing work, instead i find myself posting on a forum. imagine yourself, having to share the same cramped bed that someone else has slept in.. imagine the sweat and narrow passages and the constant throbbing of the diesel engines and the ceaseless motion of the uboat.. imagine moldy food for weeks on end and worst of all.. no women! i'd say, if the morale meter is half way.. its too much!
