Uplay Server Unavailable - PLEASE READ HERE

Many of you have been reporting ongoing issues with the Uplay server reporting an unavailable error message when you try to access it.

This issue is by no means universal and so we would like to try and establish some more specific information to help us isolate the problem.

Could anyone who has experienced this issue either on a few occasions or ongoing please post below the following information...

tanjaialle the team have tried a fix using your account and requested you sign out and back into Uplay to see if its worked.

PS3 New Zealand gamertag procion It happens everytime I try with the game entered the Black Edition codes with(btw VERY nice Ezio Figurine, I wanted a Kratos fig. with GoW3 Ult. ed, instead Sony give us...a box), yet when I started a NEW game on that usename I could log in everytime and see my Uplay stats from game 1. I deleted sec gamesave in an effort to reenable acces with my completed gm. Still no cigar. U play's still in beta. Cr4p happens in beta. Thats why its not alpha yet. Hope it gets fixed soon

Have never been able to get in. Once I hit the "y" button from the theme page it acts like it is going to the server because it will pull up the Ubisoft Uplay Beta loading screen. I had this message on sunday but now its back to 'error loading info from server' prob, See 'having problem with uplayon...' thread for more details on my prob. For PS3 version.

I had this sent to me from support as a possible solution, didn`t work for me but may help someone else;

Delete all of the systems internet cache. To do this scroll along the cross media bar until you reach the 'Network' tab, now scroll up / down the list until you reach the 'Internet Browser', highlight this and press X. Once you browser opens press the triangle button once, from the new menu highlight the 'Tools' option and press X. Scroll down the menu until you reach 'Delete Cookies' and press X. Confirm the files deletion. Repeat this for 'Delete Cache'.

If there is a PC/Xbox 360 equivalent give it a shot, cheers

Oh yeah.. One other thing. It may or may not be helpful for you.
It's irritating, never the less..

When I get the message about the unreachable server, I also get 2 options.
1.Exit to desktop
2.Login to server

Since I can't log in to the server I click “exit to desktop”.
The game doesn't care about that though, but continues to the main game menu.
This menu is now reduced to just one “quickgame” icon and a text at the bottom of the screen that says “waiting for news”. When I click the “quickgame”-icon (my only option at this point) the game freezes and I have to ctrl+alt+del.

I've seen no replies on your progress in solving the problem!
What's happening? Update, please!

If you force the player to log in to a server to be able to play, you should at least have a ****ing fail safe! This is so unprofessional!

Get it online now! And give us compensation for not delivering the service we've paid for!

Woah!!! Look over here! It's a person who used to be a future customer.

"A permanent internet connection is required to play this game... when the Ubisoft UPlay servers are up and running" was not on the front of the ******* box when I bought this game. You are crippling your fanbase and making enemies of those that would have originally supported you.

And I don't give a damn if it's Easter or Christmas. Ubisoft is not an individual that gets to take holiday vacations. It is a multi million dollar corporation that has a legal responsibility to provide resolutions to customers with legitimate issues with its product. And if a resolution is not seen to be close by in the future, you should at least respond with a simple:

"We know that there are issues with the servers at this time, but we are working as hard as possible to resolve them."

But of course that is not the case. That would show that you cared about the customers that are providing the cash for all your Easter Chocolates. And we all know you don't care, or else you wouldn't have this poorly made online DRM protection feces anyway.

You all seem to be under the mistaken idea that the UPlay forums are for posting about DRM and game related problems, UPlay is not the DRM, it's simply a service for using rewards gained in games.

Game server problems should be posted in the forums of the game you are having problems with and not in these forums.

Both of the threads were started before there were any PC games using the DRM, and were aimed at PS3 and Xbox360 users who were having problems accessing UPlay to redeem points earned in AC2, which doesn't use the DRM on the console versions.

Check your fire wall settings,in win 7 the local and public check box must be ticked to allow the program to access via the fire wall.

Hope this gets resolved quick smart, AU$89.95 for a game that doesn't work fully.

Singleplayer works, with a random one or two connection lost, resuming.. but unable to access Uplay or the Splinter Cell Conviction main server. Have completely formatted everything, tried XP and 7 and still have had zero luck.

I'd just like to update my post. As of 5 minutes ago, after trying a lot of things over the past 12 hours, my Uplay and everything within Splinter Cell: Conviction is now operating properly.

On a whim, I rechecked my Router firewall rules, ALL Inbound was Blocked, so I added custom rules to unblock everything that UPlay browser and Conviction_game.exe attempted and it's now working correctly.

I urge anyone else using a Netgear router to give that a try as well as it solved it for me.

It's just crazy that if you want to play the single player you still need the "internet support".. Very dumb thinking hoeever thought of this..

well i play Assassin's Creed II and my platform is PC but when i try do access the ubi server an error appears and its because the ubi server is not available im from Bulgaria so im sorry if i have mistakes on the words . is it because my game is cracked ?

UK PS3 AC2 -2 diff routers, all the fiddling with dmz ect ect ect. Even tried getting online with a neighbours wireless internet access.

Still can't get uplay to work after months of trying and it's been 2 months since I've had any actual response from ubisoft support. I'm STILL getting the error loading info msg.

Right now ubisoft 'support' is seriously ticking me off by repeatedly changing the issue to solved with no response or update.

It's been months now, this should have been sorted already for crying out loud!!
As you can tell my patience has run short.

Have to say this pathetic excuse for support has lost game sales from this ex-customer. Haven't bought any ubi games since AC2 thanks to this and don't you dare to hope I will any future games.

Uplay servers aren't working from Sacramento, CA for days now. This is from an Xbox 360 that definitely connects to Xbox Live. Been playing Halo: Reach Beta.

You would think that Ubisoft would have fixed this problem since it was reported as early as November of last year.

I'm thinking it's more then just a server issue as I can't connect to uplay or the exclusive content servers and this has been since I first got the game last week thursday (only connected once). I'm kinda glad its not just me with a server problem (judging by the 11+ pages of this thread).

With still no fix and support given up I've been still trying get some way around this myself. Over last week as last resort I've been trying numerous proxy servers to see If I can get through through one of them. Tried mostly those in UK (were I am), France, Germany and 1 US. Little more than half tried I don't get the error loading info from server message but then universally server unavailable message. It seems no matter were I try connect through.

Using a proxy is probably risky so I don't advise it anyway but does anyone know for certain were their servers seem to be reliably 'available'?

Right now its last thing I can try.
Still UK PS3 AC2 broadband, wired/wireless, w/wo encryption, 2dif routers, dmz'd, neighbours different broadband provider, wiped ps3 net cookies+cache ect

I bought my game a month ago and didn't play one second of it due to the server not available problem. I will never buy a DRM game again. One thing I must mention though is that the support at Ubisoft keeps on suggesting solutions to my problem. Since I bought the game they have been replying to all my mails and questions. They post a reply ever so often even if it is to ask if I still have problems. Hat off for that!

I can't access Uplay from Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands.

I get the same message as most, "Uplay or Ubisoft server is currently unavailable. Please try again later." Had the same blasted message since I bought Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands when I try to open Uplay through it or unlock Exclusive Pre-Order Bonus Content, and keep getting the same message over and over.

Yet...I got Assassin's Creed II a week prior to getting this, and it works fine with Uplay or Bonus Content unlocking, makes not bloody sense whatsoever.

I have an open ticket with support and had one reply, one that makes me wonder if they think I'm an uneducated idiot "Check your firewall and make sure it's not blocking the game or Uplay". I've tried the game with a bare naked connection, no virus protection or firewalls and it does the same thing.

I'm hoping support finds something to fix it, or someone here can...because it's driving me nuts, makes no sense for one game to do the same identical online servers fine, while the other refuses to do it at all.

I'm patient that a solution will be given, but it's slowly wearing thin. :|

Last few days I haven't ever been able to connect to uplay.

And since Forgotten Sands is a pathetically short PoP game that can almost be finished in a single afternoon (it's just a flagrant cash-in with the movie coming out soon, of course, I'm sure Ubi rushed it through development), this means I'm probably going to experience the entire game without ever being able to unlock the uplay stuff, unless I bother with a replay at some later date (which doesn't seem likely, considering the game doesn't have much replay value).

Conviction also won't connect to uplay anymore... however, a month ago when I actually played it, it worked just fine.

I got in to uplay today, once. I was about to stop playing, but decided to try uplay again before exiting the game and it worked. I unlocked a bunch of assasins creed 2 stuff and then closed uplay, then it went back to the assasins creed 2 game launcher which i closed because i had no intention of playing as of that moment. Then i started the game again a bit later and discovered that my unlocked stuff (like the tomb in Monteriggioni) was still locked. I then tried to acces uplay again and got the error message again.

uh... I found a way to make it work, but it's ridicule...

I launched the game and mistyped my password, and after typing the correct one, logged and launched the game, everything was working again: Exclusive Content, Coop and the Insurgency Pack.

I even thought that you guys had fixed the issue after my post yesterday...

After a while, I was going to play again and the Server issue came back. Then I remembered the password thing earlier... So I closed the game, launched again, mistyped my password, then typed the right one and everything was working again...

I'm happy of being able to play the game again with the additional content, but disappointed at the same time with the lack of new Exclusive Items...

Hope it works with everyone here.

'Ubisoft server is unavailable, try later'...

Installed the new 3.41 playstation update today and tried AC2 (PS3, adsl, same as before ect ect) uplay several more times. Stil no luck.

Although, this could be completely random but a couple those times it spat out the 'uplay unavailable' message instead of the usually almost always 'error loading info' message. Maybe sort of a tiny improvement?... still can't get on.
Anyway it's crashed/frozen on this 11th attempt so far

yeah that goes for far cry 2 as well .. whats the deal there.. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif.. its been down for like over a day now.. and i havent found any info about whats going either

FIX THE DAMN THING. I DIDNT PAY 50 BUCKS FOR A GAME JUST SO IT COULD GO IDLE ON MY DESKTOP! Seriously, if you are unable to set up your own damn servers then leave it please to someone who can or dont do it at all!

Had response from ubi support on 4th;
"We've now had some information to say the issues you were experiencing should be resolved."

Hasn't resolved my problems (error loading info from uplay message) and still can't on but maybe others will now have better luck
