3v3 Tournament with Prize Money by [CZG]

My clan/team/main mates are Chillzonegaming[CZG] and I've been with them for a little over 2 years. It's a relaxed atmosphere with no pressure for membership or donations, just relax place for mature players to hang out and have fun.

Anyhow, myself and CZG's 2 other admins were talking and decided we'd like to sponsor a fun Ruse tournament for everyone and share our community as well.

From what I understand a proper 3v3 tournament is something a lot of Ruse players have wanted for a long time, so I'm going to set it up and CZG is going to sponsor with prizes. We'll also be providing our Teamspeak3 server for match comms and tournament info when the time comes and if players need. We have some really cool people who hang here and some great Ruse players as well.

Prizes will be something along the lines of:

$90-$100 for first place Team
$60 for second place
$20 for 3rd

and perhaps some Bonus prizes like $15-20 for team with least losses etc. etc.

I need some feedback from you guys in the community about the Tourney rules. First of all this WILL be a 3v3 tourney, so that is not up for discussion.

But I'm interested in tournament Rules and details such as:

*Maps
*1945 or 42'(Do we want admins?)
*Time Limit("No Time Limit" is NOT an option)
*Factions (Most likely Japan is Not allowed)
*Swiss, Single Elimination or Double Elim.?

etc.

Please offer your feedback and I will take all idea's and thoughts into consideration. Flaming and/or Trolling is not welcome on this thread or against other players/teams please. This is for constructive discussion and Ultimately the Fun of the Community.

I would suggest a timelimit of 40 minutes or 50 minutes. Maybe you should do a timelimit of 50 minutes on Centre of Gravity and Scrum and 40 Minutes on Handshake over the Elbe, Triple Entente, Bagration, Guns'n Tulips.

Maybe don't take Bagration or/and Scrum in the map rotation, depending on how many maps you'll need.

I would definitely ban japan, but not sure about USA. Maybe it's more fair without USA, but I'm not sure since 3v3 is different to 1v1.

And a last thing: Maybe the guys with more points shouldn't win, if it's a ruse draw there should be a rematch.

Time limit SHOULD imo be the default and thus 40 min... 50 min encourages admin spam too heavily and obviously.

Why is japan always banned in tournaments? I'm not a fan of japan myself, but I don't see any problems of fighting against japs...

btw, I would stick to 40 minutes. admin spam is not going to be a big issue on the big maps with 40 min. I think. Maybe a time limit of 30 min on smaller maps?

Do you expect to organise more 3vs3 tournaments in the future brahman? (doesn't have to be with prize money, though it's cool any way)

Japan is mainly a problem in 3v3 games for a few reasons, at first, they have fastest non research fighter, being perfect for snipes. If the jap player gets air recon up fast, any sec HQ is useless till either you bring aa from another pos, or your teammate has got his own air up.
Secondly, they have great early units, they can counter all from 2 bases, the inf base, and the arty base. The 88 can kill almost any early tanks, and that base also has 10 arty.
Third and last of which I can think, the proto arty seriously gives trouble in 3v3, if the jap starts with proto, and pumps out arty, protected by his teammates, that arty can kill any armor.

Maps - I don't mind except for Scrum, which I hate. I'd also like the option for Nuclear Winter if both teams have it and agree, since I love that map.

Ok guys thank you for your input I think we have pretty much all we need for this.

On another note I will not be playing the tourney just acting as head referee and admin. Although I may need 1 or 2 others to assist, we'll see.

I completely disagree with Swift and I think all of his proposals must be changed i propose the following:

I think a compromise solution might be possible. How about:

Maps - I don't mind except for Scrum, which I hate. I'd also like the option for Nuclear Winter if both teams have it and agree, since I love that map.

thought i doupd that will be any succed for the reason that even the 1 v1 turnaments take forever to finish as i saw from the last turnament(i wasn't playing but thats what i saw on forums)

Also i am not sure if there will be enough teams for 3 v 3

Also it will be wiser if u still ensist to host a turnament to make a euro one or a US one cause the time difference.

I was wondering since there is going to be few teams and some serious money are at steak (in poland you can buy a house for that) I would propose best out of 3 games. Each team picks the map. Difference in point out of first 2 games will decide which team picks 3rd map.

Also how about no duplicate/triple nations allowed. This would twist things up, or make up what teams are allowed (this might incorporate italy in those games).
