It even says "download new maps online" when you start co-op mode, so, what gives?

Well, look at it this way. They're focusing on the maps for X-box and that is also right along side with Microsoft. The PC version on the other hand has nothing to do with Microsoft, so Ubisoft could probably really care less about us at this point. Notice how the "Community Manager" keeps the X-box community informed? but we're left out in the dark.

i heard they might be co-released with the x-box maps. it's all wild rumor and speculation, though.

This is a copy of a post from Rhoulette regarding the co-op Xbox maps. THIS IS ABOUT Xbox not PC.

Sorry guys. No one needs to tell us that you're annoyed. We very much understand and again apologize for this delay. Problems of all sorts have arisen over the course of the past month and even though we've fought them down, more have sprung up in their path.

The good news is that people from both Ubisoft and Microsoft are hopeful that we've got the final problem nailed now. I'm crossing my fingers that we will see these maps inside the next couple of weeks and if we're lucky we'll have a certain polar base map ready for you. This new versus mode map is not only something we think you guys will love, but it should also be considered a thank you gift for your dedication to the game and a thank you for your patience.

I'm pushing to have all of those things ready at once for you all but if polar base isn't quite ready with the coop fix then I would advocate for the coop maps to come first and polar base when it's ready. I hope you guys are cool with that. I figured that at this point you're just ready for any new content at all so to get something out to you as soon as possible.

Again, our apologies for the delay but unforseen problems are, well, unforseen. Had we known it would take a month we would have tried to prepare you better for that. Thanks for your patience.

So it sounds like they are not too far off. Don't lose hope! We will get to play them yet! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

They're giving us a final coop fix too? Or was she only talking about the maps?

she was only talking about maps on xbox.

it's possible that they might be released on pc around the same time. but no one really knows for sure.

It's Ubisoft. They are masters in the art of blowing smoke up the communities ***.

Last post by me on that page, its just a little piece of my mind. Ubi is bad enough but you Patchwhiners make things ALOT worse...

This is exactly why Ubisoft needs to revise the NDAs they make Community Managers sign. Allow them to release absolutely anything that doesn't reveal the precious engine source code--the only thing that actually needs protection. Counter-intuitive? Maybe, but it doesn't make a company lose money by any means. You can't make a rip-off engine out of screen caps of unfinished player models and maps. If you could, nobody would exhibit at E³. On top of that, people get really anxious when all they hear is typical crowd-quelling PR-speak, and that anxiety changes the tone that comes across from everyone, including the calm people. Then it looks like customers vs. employees, and nobody helps anybody. The real, sincere questions and comments get drowned out as ingrates come out of the woodwork to say things like "I paid money for this game, which I interpret to equate purchase of the employees as my slaves."

In business, one must ensure that protection of assets and acquisition of revenue must not be such that they inhibit future sales. The fact that people treat games as an essential product means a company can get away with screwing customers a little harder than usual. Not to implicate Ubi of that, just illustrating that there is no monetary motivation whatsoever behind customer support. Why should you pay staff for stuff you aren't going to get a return on? Why not just assign the SC dev team to SC4 and have them generate some revenue instead? Never forget games are made by companies, and management has a responsibility to keep that company profitable.

and poor customer support has the tendency to drive consumers away, expecially when your product is all glitchy.

sorry to double-post, but this shows a misunderstanding of the situation. they're "helping" xbox owners, because we should have had working maps a MONTH AGO when they were first released. but something went awry, and it's been taking forever, apparently, to fix it. i'm sure their pc guys are doing something. what it is, i don't know, but i'm sure they're doing it.

Well, looks like I misread... well, that's not very suprising... but anyway, I just thought that it would be nice to have a gift like that editor I mentioned... It would be exactly what this community needs, after a patch of course...
