Gamecube Unlockable Weapons?

Hi Folks,

I’ve just started (and got hooked on) playing Ghost Recon (the first one) on my Gamecube (I wish it was an Xbox, by the sound of things).

Anyway, I thought I’d go get Nigel the Bizon he’s supposed to be able to have according to the unlockable weapons lists I’ve seen, and completed the Special Objective on the Farm Mission (in Quick Mission mode). I went to equip him with it though, and it wasn’t there.

I realize now that the unlockable lists I’ve seen are all for Xbox, including not only weapons, but new soldiers too. (I get new soldiers when I complete special objectives, just not the same soldier for the same mission as Xbox does.)

My question is whether there are unlockable weapons for the Gamecube version of Ghost Recon, and if so whether there is a list somewhere that I could get my hands on. I searched this forum (and a lot of other places), but came up empty.

I'm not sure how it is on the gamecube version, but on the XBOX you can go into the main menu and look up the dossier. The dossier will tell you what weapons you will get for completing particular objectives.

Thanks for the reply. It appears the Gamecube version is dwarfed by the Xbox version in yet another way: there's no dossier (at least I couldn't find it, and there's not that many places to look).

Man this is SO frustrating. I thought I'd give it another chance, so I went into the swamp in quick mission mode on veteran, to try to get Astra her new rifle. The result: nothing for her, or anybody else either.

If anybody knows how to unlock the Cube's weapons, or how to find out, please help me before I go nuts and do every quick mission on every difficulty setting...boy if I did that and still wasn't happy, I could be looking for a real weapon. I'd just have to figure out who to shoot, to make myself feel better.

It is possible that the gamecube version may not have all of the weapons that the XBOX version has. Just a possibility.

Beware, some idiot with XBOX superiority complex may see your posts and tell you to go out and get an XBOX, and that if anyone should be shot, it should be you for buying a gamecube. There are some idiots on these forums, so be prepared.

On the same note, if any version is the best, the PC crowd would really be the ones to take that claim.

How is the GC version? I hear it is the same as PS2 story wise, but runs a lot better.
