I read the latest Playstation Magazine which had a feature on Assassin's Creed Brotherhood and they talked a bit about the new multiplayer mode in the game.

I would very much like to post the scans here but I believe they're against the forum rules, so Google "Assassin's Creed Brotherhood magazine scans" and go to the first link which has the word "litos" in it. The website's not mine BTW http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Basically the game sees Templars using the Animi ( plural of Animus ) to train their assassination skills. Players will be pit against one another in an area full of AI characters, and using their disguises which will be similar or almost the same as the AI they will need to blend in and take out their target. Each player is assigned a target, and once he has killed his opponent he is assigned another player as the next target. Different characters have different weapons, for eg. the doctor character has a poison syringe.

If you would remember, the old Conviction featured a fugitive-style of gameplay, and it's been long since the first version of that game was shown to us so I've forgotten if anything was said about the multiplayer then. But in any case, utilising AC:B's concept, I think social stealth would have been an interesting idea for Conviction's multiplayer. We could see a versus mode where one player is the fugitive and the rest are cops or 3E agents tasked with capturing the player. So the fugitive has to blend into the crowd and avoid detection by enemy players while completing an objective like retrieving data, interrogating an AI character or even assassination. Unnatural movements like running, jumping, brandishing weapons/gadgets etc would immediately distinguish the player from the AI characters and make him and easy target for the cops.

What do you think. Would this social stealth concept work in the old Conviction game? Would you like to see a variation of this in the next Splinter Cell game, along with SvM? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
