June 28th 1940,
Happy times!!! So far so good campaign wise. I recently got orders to patrol out in the Atlantic and wouldnt you know it...I have contact with a friendly submarine. Its on the map and supporting me with contact updates. I had to alt-tab and let everyone know...unless this is already old news. Hadn't checked. Anyway my cpts name is Johansen Housen on the boards. Happy hunting.

I ran into a friendly sub early in the game, on my way out to the North Sea. She ran parallel to me until I went towards the channel and she sailed north.

I had something similar happen. Was running with what looked like a light cruiser along the northern coastline of Scotland. The cruiser actually took out two destroyers while I sank two merchants. Was pretty neat. It was much needed as I was rather irritated at the game at the time. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

The game is actually growing on me. I'm actually staring to like the New Auto TDC as I understand it more.
Other then the extremly bad Destroyer AI that is causing me to not like this game at all, I could live with everything else if the Dam Destroyers actually responded to your attacks.

i'd really be interested to hear more about this side of the game, it's the only thing that will tempt me to buy.

I came across 3 U-Boats in line formation heading N x NE in my patrol area, (Atlantic)Aug, 1940. They were traveling at 14 kts and were ahead of me and I soon lost them.
Didn't know you could get contact updates from them. I'd like that. Happy Times Campaign.

From what I understand from someone who found a seven boat wolf pack, they do indeed exist. Unfortunately, they're incapable of attacking anything.

I had the same thing, but going the other way.. side by side with a friendly sub for hours and hours in the north sea on my way to refit at Heligoland.
Which is kind of surprising since the first thing I did upon discovering the sub was to fire about ten rounds of armor piercing right in the midship, and I think I even saw the sub smoking. But they didn't even flinch! So I stopped firing and started muttering under my breath about quality assurance. That is when I discovered that the sub was in fact friendly, i.e blue on the map.
As far as I can tell there was no punishment for my "hunting accident". I wasn't even reprimanded when I reached port. Which makes me wonder what had happened if I'd actually sunk it.

if someone can get a wolfpack pic post it!
they shouldnt be operating in site of each other anyway, unless for AA cover crossing bay of biscay, and even then that was only at a certain period. Wolfpacks should be spread out to find convoys-that was their purpose, only converging at night for an attac and even then no coordination..
Still glad to hear they're in it.

I also saw two, I think Stuka bombers attacking a destroyer that was chasing me in the English Channel. They got him. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif
