Uh? All storyboards are DRAWN.
They are concepts of the camera, surroundings, placement of the character and the way he/she stands.

So thats portraying the time when Sam finds out Sarah has just been in an accident, or just died, right?

And whats the deal with the idea to "break away"? I'm not sure I like the sound of that. He did end it saying it will still be stealth, still be Sam, and still be Splinter Cell, but I'm not so sure now.

Yeah, you see Sam watching Sarah in hospital, his reflection (or at last I think it's Sam) is on the... heart-beat-o-graphic.

I haven't seen the interview, but those look like it's gonna be for a beginning sequence? It shows how Sam's struggling to deal with his doughter's death and he can't concentrate on his job. And at the end he throws his goggles.

Seems to me that if the first mission is you breaking out of jail then... there's gonna have to be a pretty lengthy introduction movie to show all of the stuff with Sarah, and then Sam getting discharged and then Sam going on his crime spree until he is finally caught...

exactly! that was my first thing what came into my head after seeing that screenshot! i mean its cinematic:
"Sam in mission before everything happens and after suddently He get to know that Sarah is dead."
it seems like to be introduced mission that gives a needed training to a player before jail and further
