I cannot updat any patches on emy fresh load of Far Cry. I just reloaded (not restored, loaded from scratch) my system and installed a fresh load of Far Cry amd get nothing when I try to patch it. I'm using the 1.3 patch and when it gets to where you choose the folder to put the patch files in, it just sits there and does nothing. I'm currently on version 1.1, build #1256.

I'm not sure if it make s difference or not, but I bought the game using the Gamestop download site and it doesn't use any CDs or DVDs to run.

I'm not having any major problems, just want to make sure that I'm getting all of the content and will be able to update later to play online.

I'm using an XP SP2, Intel 6600 2.4 GHz dual core, 3GB ram system, with a Radeon 3870 graphics card.

Anybody have any idea why this would be stopping in the middle of the updates?

Thanks,
Jack

With your video card you really should be using at least the 1.3 version.

Usually patch problems are caused by bad registry entries, but with a fresh install of the OS and Far Cry, you should not be having problems. The only thing I can suggest is to make sure you have Windows Installer 3.1 (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=889482FC-5F56-4A38-B838-DE776FD4138C&displaylang=en). Another thing is to run Windows Installer Cleanup Utility to see if there are installer files blocking the patch.
