I think it might have been more exciting if, the Captain
had shouted the following commands, much like David
Hedison of Seaview did in "Voyage To The Bottom of
The Sea" decades ago.

I remember, as a kid then, these were the moments that I
really looked forward to in the TV movie.

"Fire One !" (or two, three, etc) instead of "Firing Tube One"

"Blow All Tanks !" rather than "Blow Ballast!"

"Dive! Dive! Dive!" instead of "Crash Dive!"

I think the usage of "fire tube one" instead of "fire one" may have something to do with the clarity of the command. If I say "fire two" am I saying fire tube two or fire two torpedoes?

The usage of precise orders eliminates confusion and misunderstandings and the questioning of verbal orders. The same reason goes for the usage of phonetic pronunciation over radios. "Five" can sound like "nine" over a poor radio connection. That is why we say "five" for 5, and "niner" for 9. Likewise when specifying individual letters, "C" can sound like "G" or other letters in English, so we say "Charlie" for "C" and so forth.

I would like "Scotty" voice from Startrek saying as I order Flank:

"She canna take much more Capt'n, she'll blow"

Whoops, last night I tried recording my own voice using
Sound Recorder shouting the above commands, then
converted the WAV files to OGG files with converter
software downloaded online.

Then I renamed and replaced the respective OGG files
in the "Speech_en" with mine. There seemed to
be so many similarly named sound files in the respective
subfolders (Nos. 1 to 9), and I didn't know which was which.

For example, "Firing Tube One" had the following files,
all in the subfolders 1 to 9 :

WeO_K_Firing _Tube_One
WeO_P_Firing_Tube_One
WeO_S_Firing_Tube_One

So I replaced them all with same "Fire One !" file, reloaded the game....and it crashed !

Will have to reinstall the game again today.
