View Full Version : Attn developers: a GREAT glitch experience

Playing co-op mission the other night, got into the game and had no HUD whatsoever.
No ammo count, no grenade count, NO CROSSHAIRS....it was BRILLIANT. No pop up "press A to fast rope" but I didn't need that anyway. The game looked so nice and clean and using the optics was necessary. It was wonderful. I'd always wanted to play Rainbow w/o crosshairs and other info. Not having an ammo count was no big deal, nor the grenade count. Easily dealt with.
My point:
I know you'll never take the HUD off entirely for Rainbow. How about making "realistic" difficulty something just like this? Instead of a health/regen being altered, make it actually *realistic* with no HUD/crosshairs. I'd love to play the game like this at will. It would be a GREAT host option for MP games too. For a bug, it was really a great experience--and not easy to play either.

I second that! I would love to have options to turn things off. The more options the better. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
Thanks.

That would be fustrating to some to begin with.
I'm all for it, really.
Used a mod similar to this in BF2 for the pc. was delightful and fustrating hehe.

I would just like to see the option for those who don't want to have the Hud and such. That would at least give people the choice and choice is always good. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

COD 2/3 had the option to turn off the crosshairs, which improved the game immensely. This was better, not even an ammo count. I hope they'll consider this for the next one as a host option and as a SP/co-op game option. Crosshairs and HUD's take a *huge* chunk of realism out of an otherwise great game. I'd rather have this done than any other gameplay tweaks (including the cover view)

I third (or wherever we are) that idea too! Hopefully, they'll get rid of the rifle scope for the MP9 and we might get less people using it as a sniper rifle! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/784.gif

Ya it is a good idea, but as long as we have the option to keep them on.

Fine by me as long as the info shows up on the match search results page.

I don't think anyone wants to remove options for others, we just want more options all the way around. With the addition of a few options to turn things on or off, you could make this game more enjoyable for people who prefer a less arcade like game play. I think options are always a good thing, if just to change the way the game plays when you get bored with it. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Instead of making it a host option in a multiplayer, which takes away options for people who like to play with those features on as you said. I think they should make it an option under the option screen. Just like adjusting the x and y sensitivity. That way everybody could have it the way they wanted it. Personally I don't see why they didn't put that as an option in the game to begin with.

No, that wouldn't work. The on screen crosshairs are a tremendous crutch. It would have to be a host option to turn off for the entire room or players still using the crutch would have a crazy advantage. It should be a host option to offer a more realistic combat room. Including that as a search option would be good, or include that on the description of the room in the search.
I hope something like this can be used in the next game, it would take Rainbow to the next level of realism.

NOW that would be better, it would also stop people all using that 6x scope on assaults & rifle on smgs, if you had real aiming in stead of a crosshair, no ammo count, an option to cook grenades (without it telling you how long you have) no map, take GPS, Radar jammers, motion sensors out of the game because everyone blocks them anyway, tear gas & mask should go because it just lags up a server. Also can you make it so ammo doesn't just stack up? And do something with that bloody Tavor? (Mtar21) it seems to be the only gun ever used, people complain about the XM-26 LSS?
Let's make a table?
XM MTAR
High rate of fire Y Y
Stupidly powerful Y Y
Randomly accurate N Y
Long range N Y
Close range Y Y
What is the problem with the xm? i block the Mtar, tear gas, GPS, radar jammer & Mp7a1.

Did you have the radar map? That is the one biggest thing I would wish to take off. How many time has someone not even noticed a person and then they popped up on the radar and whip around and shoot. Lame.

No map either. It was just soldier's weapon view, nice and clean. Hasn't done it again for me yet. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif
