View Full Version : freeze up at beginning of game.

just got it and started a new single player game. got about 50 paces and it freezes up. also, when they start to speek (on the intro and such) they stutter a few times. I turned off all the goodies and turned the res down to minimum and it's no different.
specs:
amd opteron 146 (2ghz)
DFI lanparty dr expert
2gb qualitly ram
ac98 on board sound

the direct x is 9.c (4.09.0000.0904) -I downloaded the latest but it didn't install automaticly, just asked where i wanted to put the files and I don't know where they're supposed to go.

ok - i managed to update the direct x to dec_2006_redist.exe and i turned the sound accelaration down to minimum but it made no difference. any suggestions? I also had a similar problem playing FEAR, which i never solved as i ended up playing Doom instead.

oh - and the graphics card is a nvidia 7800gtx

Minimum CPU required is 3.0 GHZ, recommended is 3.5 GHZ
