Hi, i'm new on this forum, please don't mind.

Everyone who saw the game trailer and immediately thought of Fallout 3, raise your hand please?
This was the first thing at least i thought about, for the following reasons:

Purified water is (kind of) rare in Fallout, and it is very rare in IAA.

Post apocalyptic, you gotta say IAA kinda reminds you of an apocalypse, now doesn't it?

Not a majority of bullets, like in most of today's FPS's (Killzone2, Quake 4, Halo 3)

The storyline is about finding someone you really care about: (Fallout: Your father, IAA: Alice)

There aren't that much survivors in Fallout, and there are almost NO survivors in IAA.

The gameplay area is a post apocalyptic wasteland.

People REALLY need supplies like water.

Your choices affect the storyline.

Please tell me what you think about the comparison, and i hope you agree with me http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I understand wat your saying and i've also played "Fallout 3" and realised how uncanny it is to "I Am Alive".

Lets just take a look at "Fallout 3" as a unique game that stands out from the crowd with its original gamply feel and tactics, but what also makes it stand out is the environment being a post apocalyptic wasteland and when you compare it to "I Am Alive" you get the feeling there's some copyright going on here.

But this sort of thing happens all the time, for example "Left 4 Dead" is different to any other zombie game before it in that their are different zombies with different behavours toward the player and how they react to the environment as well as the regular
zombies.
"Killing Floor" was also released having a similar story and unique enemies who at first glance would be considerd mutants/zombies.

There a alot of games from different production lines that seem similar and when people notice this they usually crack down on it but if you just take a step back a look at the big picture you'll notice how often this occurs.

Its not that big a deal and I personally don't think of it much (irony) so long as a good game is published that'll keep me pacified I'll be happy. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Lets hope It can be the "fallout" I allways wanted. Fallout and the Post apocalyptic genre is intreeging. But the factors that have talking against them, is there is to much stuff. To many weapons, and to advanced weapons. And to much ammo fore them. Ofcourse the first years after a global catastrophe like the doomsday senario of nuclear war. Only 10% of the humanity whould have survived, the atomic winter will only last fore one year aprox.. but there whould be food shortage and famin and coold, and ofcourse there will still be weapons but no new production of them or ammo so like humanity is, the killing whould not stop there, and ammo and gear whould after a while be scarse. And all tech that is not produced before the catastorphe is only what is left the rest is back on the stone age. And the world whould pe toxic by radiation, so starting to grew stuff, is not likley succseeded. So food an water will be scarse fore many years. ant there fore there will be many many years before and if humanity will begin to recower and start sociyty over again.

Intresting reading on the subject is "the enviromental and social consequenses of neuclear war" a govermental report written in the 60ies..900 pages, and if I remembered correctley it is allso flagged.

it looks to me like this is going to be simillar to the old ps2 game S.O.S - the final escape, simillar situation with the whole survival aspect, where u would have to help other survivors and fend off some hostile elements in the wake of a massive earthquake/sinking man-made island. dont know if n e one has played it, but it was a pretty fun albeit REALLY unpolished game

Hmm i have had a quick wiz through the post. And yes,i agree and disagree. when reading up on lostassassin123 thread, It sounded very simalar to fallout 3. However, it is in many ways very different, for starters it's a first person. not an RPG. It's set in this day and age. Correct me if i'm rong, I don't know much about fallout 3 But from what i think i know. Isn't it set in the distant future. and to be frank we don't yet know any thing much about IIA. But one thing i do know. I am very much looking forward to it. so GL Ubisoft make us a hell of a game!

There is a shortage of post-apocalyptic games at this time, so I welcome the release of I Am Alive. It may seem like Fallout 3, but we still don't know much about it. And calling it an FPS game is probably inaccurate from the looks of the trailer. I'd say that it's more like Uncharted meets Fallout, where there are lots of platforming and shooting elements. Of course, water will play a big role in the game, so this game might offer some RPG or adventure elements, too, which is very interesting.

My best advice to everyone is to wait a bit longer and judge the game then. There isn't much to say about the game since only a trailer has been released so far.

Well, I am Alive basically isn't like Fallout 3 because I don't think the earthquake in IAA was the apocalypse, just a major catastrophe. And IAA should be more realistic because in Fallout you just see people walking around with missle launchers and laser guns when they would probably be carrying nail boards and lead pipes. Like 1 in 30 people will have a firearm. In Fallout there was people making challenges to find Nuka-Cola and little kids living peacefully in caves. But in IAA, it's supposed to be more realistic.

ok here usually they get ideas from other games but, i think its a little like fallout3 and a lot more like cloverfield come on people you have to agree with me for one this is a movie. in cloverfeild your at a party and a monster comes down yo end Manhaton (idk if i spelled that correctly). well after the monster hits you get outside and you go look for your girlfriend beth. Witch she is in her apartment but when you get there her apartment is leaning against. another, two giant skyskrapers. sound simalar hmm... FudgeFace12yahoo.com PSN: yag9190
