TrackIR "No Data"

All of a sudden after a few hours of playing my TiR3 has stopped tracking! Not only does it not pick it up under "Tracking" there isn't even a black box, I think the IR has gone (Although the four red lights inside the camera stay on) I used both the 3.12 and the new software (TrackIR_4.0.021.exe)

Please help! Its not tracking at all and I even put every single dot I have infront of it but there isnt even a box to pick it up in. I have reinstalled it many times the exact way the manual has said and under device manager it says "Naturalpoint TrackIR 3" and not "Unknowen"

The status is on "No Data" and NOT "Disabled"

PLEASE HELP ME! I have had it less that 12 hours and its broken.

I've done the whole "Unplug, wait 30 seconds replug check if its a "?"" Story and it still lists it as a Natural Point Trackir 3

You could try a differant USB port but to honest it sounds like it has gone south on you, I have personaly found that most electronics fail in the first couple of weeks or not at all.

I think the best thing to do is post over at Naturalpoint or even simHq, several of the Naturalpoint guys are regular posters ther.

Oh by the way did you shut down TiR before you repluged it?

Same thing has happened to me with TIR3, but not as often as the green screen of death, which is also fixed by unplugging/replugging. No need to wait 30 seconds: Just plugging in the USB port seems to reset the device.

I did unplug it yes I did it exactly how it told me to. I have already posted over in the NaturalPoint forums but alas no reply yet...

I seriously hope it hasnt gone south =[ Been waiting ages for this to come through...

BTW It seems that every other post on NaturalPoint is about this problem yet EVERY SINGLE ONE just ends with that WALLY guy saying "send me an email" so I decided to do that myself...

Salute !!!

I have found that the only time that my TiR3pro loses data is when there is too much illumination behind me. My furniture arrangement allows morning sunlight to shine for a hour or so on a wall behind me so that the TiR "sees" a confusing mass of light and it won't take data.

I had a similar issue after getting the new "vector" expansion and installing the new software. Toggling the "F8" key would bring it back for me. Ultimately, I uninstalled everything and went into any folders that had any Naturalpoint info and deleted it. Then I reinstalled and simply used the default profile for FB/PF...3 hours and no problems.

I just received mine today ... TrackerIR3 Pro w/ Expansion Vector. I am loading it tomorrow ( Ballroom dancing tonight). I have Windows XP Home addition ... anything I should be aware of while loading it?
