View Full Version : Hosting IP games behind a router....

Hey has anyone had issues hosting IP games behind a router? I give my actual IP address to whomever I want to join the game, e.g. not the "192.186.0.1" number the router assigns, but people still can't join.
I'm guessing that disconnecting the router will fix the problem, but is that the only fix?

I tried to host a game a while back, and ran into problems where the other person couldn't see my machine...
Just recently, I was going to try it again, but before getting really into it, I just had someone ping what my IP should be, and he was getting a response. We didn't have time to try and connect into a game at the time, so maybe it will work for me this time, but I've experienced the same thing you described...

hey guys i host from behind a router, what u need to do is forward the GR ports on ya router ...the port is 2346 UDP/TCP ok easy as u need to forward them on ya internal ip 192.168.1.whatever hope this helps u
