Possible MP43? (http://www.waffenhq.de/infanterie/sturmgewehr44.html)
I heared from a STG44/43 which actaully was a STG with the possibility to shoot a grenade http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif, but I never saw the name MP43.

stg44 is called mp43(STG44)as they are the same:
http://www.cruffler.com/historic-february00.html
read it here...near the bottom of the page it starts to tak about the MP43, MP44, then StG44
i just read it and it says that MP44 was basically a rename...same with StG44...SturmGrewer44 which meant Assault rifle 44.....so there is nothing different in them...read about it if you dont believe me

I don't remember the exact details involved, but here's what I can recall:
Hitler was always very hands-on in new weapons development. He oversaw the development of the FG42 Paratrooper rifle and wasn't excited by its results. So, he mandated that no more automatic rifles be developed.
The guys working on the STG concept wanted to keep it up, because the action on the Eastern front especially convinced them that they very much needed an "assault rifle" type of weapon, with full-auto capabilities and an intermediate-length cartridge.
So they named their project the "Machien Pistol 43" -- the MP43. Hitler wasn't opposed to another submachinegun project.
After the MP43 and MP44 variants proved successful, Hitler wanted them to have a meaner name. He came up with "Assault Rifle 44" -- Sturmgewher 44 -- or, the Stg44.

Hitler was pleased with the FG42 when it was first developed and was fully endorsed. Due to increasing pressures of a multiple front war, however, production times of weapons needed to be shortened. Corners were cut. The time needed to manufacture an FG42 compared to an Stg44, for example, were polar. The Stg44 was a very simple construction of stamped metal parts. The FG42 also used certain materials that quickly became scarce as the war progressed. It became Hitler's aim to equip every soldier with the Stg44 -- an assault rifle utilizing the Kurz round (abbreviated Mauser 7.92 cartridge) -- and phase out the outdated k98.
