we cant play the settlers 7 because of a connect failure. We have a normal internetconnection. What can cause the problem?

Many times the problem is solved simply by turning off any firewalls (Windows, anti-virus/anti-malware, etc). Also, some forms of malware have been known to cause that issue. Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware program is free and currently considered one of the best options out there for users. Finally, you can check any router settings to open up the suggested ports in the linked threads. You can even modify your router's DMZ settings, but that's a last (and potentially dangerous) resort.
