In the game it seems that the MP7 is the perfect sniper weapon. You put a 6x scope on it and you are pretty unstopable. The gun has very little recoil so its easier to pull off headshots easier than with rifles. Is that done realisticly. I dont know much about the MP7 but it being a sub-machine gun i would think a rifle would be better for long distance. MP7 is only usable for Specalists.

The MP7 has a maximun efective range for a point target of 180 meters, and a maximum effective range for an area target of 350 meters. Maximum range for 48xCRISAT armor penetration at 200 meters.
In other words, no, it shouldn't be a sniper weapon.
However, I have yet to see a spot in the multiplayer game that was more than 180 meters away. So, yes, it should be dead accurate out to that range. That's what "point target" means, that you hit where your sights were when you pulled the trigger (Under no wind).<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

The longest straight in a MP level is around 90meters if i remember correctly.
Not that it means anything but just a fun tidbit !

The devs had a choice to change weapon behaviors in order to balance the game. Changing from realistic = bad.
Some weapons are inherently accurate even at high rates of fire. In real life I can fire the P90 on full auto and write my name with a 50 rd mag. The weapon has little recoil and is extremely controllable and accurate.
The devs took the best road on this one as the choice would be to institute too many changes to real systems. Yes there is an issue or two but over all they have done a remarkable job.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Playing Calypso in SP, and a friend of mine noticed in campaing co-op, the gun sound would *almost* entirely cut out. You'd hear only the bass of the gunshots, not the full sound. Also, the reload would be silent.
Can swap the gun for another and sound was restored for me in my case, but eventuall the sound cut out again. After Calypso, I didn't haven't had it happen again yet. It was with the MTAR, if that makes any difference.
In the campaign co-op, I think dropping and picking the weapon back up was enough. That was on the red lotus level.

Hey thanks guys for the response. I have tested the MP7 on some other maps and it dosent work so good, so I guess it did have to do with the range.
