Hey all,
we're working on some GRAW PC Q&As for the community--what questions do you have about the GRAW PC Multiplayer?

We'll do our best to get as many questions answered as we can...

i wud just like to know the MP scenarios... are we just going to be bummed off with the usual team dm/dm modes? game modes similar to CoD's search and destroy? or is there going to be more meaningful MP game types?

i mean missions with actually military objectives to make the game more fun, i'd like to see a multiplayer game somewhat close to Battlefield 2's scale with very good teambased gameplay like rainbbow six/counter strike and awesome realism (which i can honestly say, i've never even experience in a game to date)

1. Will GRAW allow players to save replays of games and/or will it feature any kind of anti-cheat program? Will the game include any kind of tool to manage replays?


2. How close will the multiplayer gameplay be in relation to the original Ghost Recon multiplayer mode? Slow-paced? Fast-paced? Does it depend on the gametype? Can you tell us about the multiplayer gametypes?


3. How will the multiplayer maps look as far as variety of size, terrain and location? Can we expect a good mix between urban and rural scenarios? How many maps, approximately, will the multiplayer have?


4. Will GRAW have a "class system" for weapon selection, similar to original Ghost Recon? How will the "kit" selection work (how many slots for equipment and what types of weapons can be selected as primary/secondary etc)?


5. Can you talk about some of the server-side options that will be available in the multiplayer mode?


6. Will the game have support for direct-IP join, All-Seeing Eye and Xfire? Will we be able to join directly through the IP without having the connect to Ubi.com? Will the game feature an in-game server browser?

1. Will there be human-piloted vehicles in the multiplayer games?

2. Will jumping be included? (God, I hope not...)

3. Will GR maintain it's 1 shot-1 kill standard?

4. Will GRAW keep the very user friendly server interface that OGR had?

5. Will there be an "igor" released?

6. Will the First Person Weapon View be toggleable?

7. What is the likely server player limit?

8. (Asked by someone else as well, but still important) WILL THERE BE REPLAYS?

9. Is it going to require a T1 with a gigabit gaming router and ping times under 20 ms to get half decent performance?

10. Will the Starforce Trojan Horse/Virus be included?

11. Is GRAW going to be like OGR? Ghost Recon was a great game, ans the vast majority of PC players want it to stay that way with this sequel.

That's all for now, I think I nailed the most important ones. Good thread.

I posted these here before and again at GR.net and I am reposting them here again.

While I can handle new weapons and new uniforms, what, if anything will make GR3 for PC a non-linear, thinking mans game like the first one was?

Will we be restricted to just 4 team members or will we be able to interact (control physically) more than one?

Will there be a stealth aspect or with there be just straight forward combat?

Will we have the cluttered HUD and colored sihlouettes found in the XBox version (this does scream arcade game)?

Will we be stuck with that god awful FPWV? If it is kept as an option, will the player have a setting to override a servers setting of FPWV so it cannot be forced on a player? That is one thing I could not stand about Raven Shield and it ruined the times I played the MP demo.

1. Replays? Can't be stressed enough.

2. Multiplayer co-op. How many people can play it at once?
I would like to mention that the community holds co-op only tournaments and requires large teams.

3. First person weapon view, does the host have an option to force it? I'm hoping not http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

4. Appearence. Can we customize the appearence of our character in multiplayer?

5. Gullie suits. Or however it's spelt. Do snipers have the option of full camo suits? This is something the PC crowd would really like to see, both in multiplayer and single player.

6. Will the command map have an option for "drawing" plans on it on the fly? It would add an intresting stratgy element!

7. How many players do the servers support?

8. How is the multiplayer interface setup? Were looking for something simular to the first GR. RVS is BAD example of how to set one up.

9. In multiplayer when players are assigned to there designated teams, are the teams broken up into squads? ie: Alpha, bravo, charlie. It hepls players stay organized on the command map.

10. Seeing as how the game is heavily based in urban areas, and fans love wooded forests, will we see alot of thesee kinds of maps for multiplyer play?

11. How do magazines work. Do we cycle through them? For example if we fire 8 rounds in one clip then reload, do we come back to that clip with 8 missing if we cycle through them all?

12. Foes your engine support Maya files too? Games before have supported both, Id love to join the mod community.

13. Why was multiple squads and character switching dropped from the game? It's not too late you know.

Grin Hi, Can you give me 5 main Simalarities between GRAW and the Original Ghost Recon within the boundary of the multiplayer mod.
And explain each one please.

Will the Server controls be like the old GR or a total mess like RvS and AA?

Replays?

Americas Army has an Honor system, Battlefield 2 has a rank system, Most "Competitive gamers find these take away from game play and promote indidvidualism. Will GRAW have any rank or stat system? or will it be all about the game play?

The two greatest game modes ever were LMS and Siege. Will these game types be included? and will we get control over Respawns?

Are we all going to have to go out and buy new PC's? Can you give us atleast an idea on the System Requirements?

Is the game going to be moddable? I think i had more fun modding GR than playing it.

Will the PC version have the arcadish features we are seeing in the XBOX videos? Talking about the soldiers outlined in red and green when your put your reticule on them.

Will the Cross-Com be used in MP?

How many maps are there or is it one big Mexico City divided into parts?

Will there be a demo?

And probably the most important question of all.
When is it going to ship?

1) Is there going to be a dedicated built-in group chat in MP (i.e. Ventrilo, etc...), similar to SC:CT? Will the opposing team be able to listen in by tapping into conversations, ie; plugging a listening device at a high location (destructable), with limited range of course...

2) Is PC MP going to be able to play against 360 MP? Just for kicks...

3) Will there be a squad leader assignment in MP, to designate and co-ordinate the group?

4) How are the spawn points going to be handled with MP? i.e. designated squad leader, sets insertion in MP...

5) How are things going to be handled on the server side of things... i.e. graphic restrictions, IP restrictions, replays, low ping restrictions, number of player restrictions, mode (king of the hill, etc.) restrictions, MOD restrictions, will the host have full control and manipulate MP features to be either turned on or off or is there a voting system?

6) Is there going to be certification to play certain maps in MP?

7) How capable is GRIN's Diesel engine running multiplayer? How many players would it support with servers running with full features, ie effects... will others be able to turn them off? What will be the host's server requirements?

8) Approximately how large will the maps be in multi-player? Would it be greater than 400m x 400m?

9) Will special commands be available in MP? i.e. airstrikes... if so what will the opposing forces have?

10) How is GRIN going to handle the balance between the high tech Advanced Warfighters vs Guerrilla fighters? Its obvious that opposing forces are out gunned...

11) Are MP able to set up traps or sensors? Perhaps an elaborate trip wire with claymore or to send up smoke or even signal flares?

12) Since every shot is not lethal in GR2, will GRAW have evac and re-insertion after a time limit? If so how will you handle this with Advanced Warfighters and Guerrilla fighters?

13) Will there be other NPC paramilitary units able to assist you in MP? I guess the question would be are there additional MP modes?

14) Is the MP map destructable? If so is the damage going to result the same as before? What is the extent of damage going in MP environments?

15) Will I be able to hide behind a bush and how easily will the other player be able to see me without aid of any special optics?

16) Can multiplayers manipulate the environment? Move crates, barrels...

17) Will there be simulated physics in MP? If so which engine, and how will the flight of the bullet be handled?

18) Can another players pick up weapons or similar bullet magazine that has been dropped by others, or if they are killed?

19) Will there be any weapons malfunction in MP?

20) Will there be any glitching present in MP (like the craters in OGR)?

21) Are there any melee attacks in MP, like butting someone with the end of their carbine? Just stunning them...

Two requests...

1) When a team has rostered up, it would be great to see the loadout across the entire team. For Co-Op it would make life a lot easier than having to ask everyone what they are carrying all the time.

2) Co-Op mission team size maximum at least 27

In the original GR we got alot of MP weapons. will we get guns like the M-16 and M-4 (maybe hte M-8 too since it got dropped meaning it must have been made already for the game) just for kicks?

you didn't think you were getting an answer to each and every question, did ya??? chances are we'll get a decent FAQ released based on some of these questions, and i doubt it'll be anytime soon...

Glad you explained that, I was actually expecting the answers for my individual questions to be mailed to me by Yves Guillemot himself.

1. Will we be using UBI to search for servers like the original, or is there an in game server search??
2. If there is an in game server search, will there be a add favorites section, this way I can add my favorite server with out having to remember IP's
3. Will we be able to admin a server from the join menu like in the original.
4. How many players will be recomended in a multiplayer server
