I love 3d battlefield and all the new abilities and monsters. What I miss from Heroes 3 and hate on heroes 5 is the 3d map. Navigating it is such a pain with buildings and landscape blocking your view, is their a way to have an overhead view of everything without gettting a headache, if this was removed I would be excited about the game, with it in I am bored and not interested in trying to navigate it. Takes away from the game

Because moving your mouse an inch or two to the left or right on rare occasions is so difficult http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

I think it's surprisingly easy to get a good overview... I was worried before the demo but now I'm calm.

The 3d takes a bit of getting used to, but once you get comfortable with it it's pretty good.
My initial reaction was the same; loss of smoothness and clarity from previous HOMM. However am now very much enjoying it -
most due to the game itself; after playing the 2 campaign scenarios it really grows on you. Great engrossing fun! Whether you like the 3d or not, it can't be denied; This is still miles better than most of the RTS pants out there in modern gaming.
Shame about the deadpan voice-acting - but the game's still fab!

I think the 3D adventure map really adds to the adventure feeling of the game... It makes me feel more like I'm looking around and scoping out the land and finding resources and artifacts and stuff... Plus, moving around the camera a bit actually gives me more perspective of the surrounding land.

If the game did not have a 3d map, Heroes V would not be as big of step forward from H3. It would only have some new features and better graphics.
