That a very good question but the answer will take probably a hundred pages, go to virtual warcinema forum on my sig and search for a thread named "the road to success" and then get back here for more details.

Cheers

I have a track i made from an online game the other night. It saved as an .ntrk and i was wondering how to convert it to like an .avi file so i could take it into a movie editor and edit it.

and fraps isn't free. except for the 30sec clips and i would like a little more. Thanks for the advice thou

You can't just convert it. The .ntrk is what IL-2 appends to it's track files, and all it really is is a series of co-ordinates of objects, and a log of the movements of the objects that, when viewed in the IL-2 track viewer, gives us a viewable track.

To 'convert' to avi, you will need something like Fraps to record it directly to avi. You can download the free trial of Fraps, and yes it is limited to 30 secs per clip, but you can still record multiple clips of up to 30 secs. And really, I don't think I've seen a clip in any decent movie that went for 30 seconds on the one continuous shot, so it shouldn't really restrict you that much. Even if you do want to record more than 30 seconds, just pause the track and record it in 2 or more parts.

Be careful BiOhhAzZaRd88 - once you start playing with moviemaking your life will never be the same, you will never see daylight, wives and girlfriends will take second place, and you will talk about compression in your sleep (and other embarassing places).

If that doesn't warn you off, go check out this great guide that Dart made. It will show you how to start. Oh, and PLEASE, never have a shot that lasts more than 30s! We all get bored after 3 or 4 secs! Think of a music video!

hehe, why can't the women understand that we need at least 4 hours a night in front of the PC? Is that asking too much?

So what have you done with Battlefield 2, any links? I seen some Very funny stuff from there like:

I am trying to get ppl for my next 3. got some people from my clan but not quite enough. need bout 19 at least.

oh yea here is my IL-2 vid.
Its more for a joke in our squad and i just used it to get my editing practice in.

Now i know the credits are bout as long if not longer than the movie it self, but i had a lot of people and things to give credit to. so enjoy.
