I wish Ubisoft gave the source code oh Heroes4 to Equilibris team... that would be cool, they could create new things like creatures!
I love equilibris mod, cause it keeps me playing Heroes4, and Heroes5 release is far away, so Ubisoft could give the source code of Heroes4 to the equilibris team, new things which they could do would make me (and i believe other fans too) calm down while waiting for HEROES5....

And I wish they give the H3 source code to the WoG team. You can't imagine how much. But unfortunately I so don't see it happening, that I find it futile to ask for it.

Both the Wog & the Equilibris teams could do a really great job if they'd have the source code (and if Ubi would be wise, could get a lot of money out of it), but I don't see them reaching any agreement (and hoping for Ubi's generosity only in the world we live in now, it's pretty childish - donno if you can find any big company that things first at the fans, and only then at their pockets).

I dont care if they will gave the source code or become a part of Nival developpments team or whatever... the only thing I want is to have a team that will re-write the AI code for Heroes IV.

Heroes IV have a VERY good approche in so many thing... but too much is scraped coz of crappy AI...

This is so very true, as well as a missing Random map generator.

There was an unofficial RMG developed by mamaich and incorporated into Slava "ZVS" Salnikov's mapmaking utility. Although it wasn't as good as the H3 one, perhaps the Equilibris team could perfect the utility if they had the source code.
The "Heroes III code to the WoG team" question doesn't seem that actual since they managed to greatly reverse-engineer the game- for instance, the presence of the allmighty ERM gives mapmakers the oppotrtunity to adjust balance and make magnificent alterations to the map. And they didn't need to change the AI anyway.
However, there is much sense in helping the Equilibris team - maybe not giving the source code, but at least some SDKs. And AI improvement is a critical question, whether it would be done by the Equilibris team, or Ubisoft/Nival themselves.

I'm confused. If they didn't have the source code for HOMM3, then how were they ever able to make WOG. I thought that was necessary in order to add new creatures.

I just downloaded the latest version of this RMG and after a few tries, it works amazingly well.
